So right now in my trending stories I see: “William Kristol: Breitbart News Calls Weekly Standard’s Editor ‘Renegade Jew’ in Headline” and “Donald Trump: GOP Presidential Candidate Calls Sen. Elizabeth Warren ‘Pocahontas’ in Interview”

I block it all out now with Facebook Purity but when I saw trending news before it was almost always entertainment news or some general type of “breaking news” type stories.
I think FB has the right to block anything they wish to block. Why should they be expected to promote stories like “STUNNER: Obama Names Transgender to Faith Post”? or “Elton John’s panties in a bunch over N.C. bathroom law”? This is the first two headlines I saw from WND.
Facebook should fire the coders responsible for this. They are clearly not doing a very good job on my feed.
They filtered out nonsense for fact i.e. they performed a form of Journalism.
Even if it’s bias, they are a private company and free to do what they want to do with regard to news they curate.
My biggest concern with this is it creates an echo chamber. A good news feed should have liberal and conservative news stories.
Google is already filtering out biased “news” sources. Why should Facebook pass through ideological sites which try to call themselves news?
They have a legal obligation to be open and honest about the mechanics of their site?
You have to manually filter out your crazy friends and relatives. This is about those trending articles. It’s kinda news to me that people pay attention to them. I don’t think I’ve ever clicked one.
