I just saw Moore’s film. I am quite opinionated about politics and a foe of GWB. Even with my political slant, I found the film a bit “heavy handed”. Bush looks like a moron in many situations, but not always. However, in those few instances that Bush doesn’t look like a fool, Moore’s film doesn’t capture them. If I were undecided about who to cast my vote for this November, I fear that Moore’s film would not shift me away from Bush. In fact, the most incentive I might feel to vote against Bush would be the RNC’s ad on their web site suggesting that Kerry is similar to Hitler (a kettle calls a pot, “black”!). I saw that flm in a very “Bushy” area, but although the showing was at 1:30pm on a workday, the theater was full! Then I left the theater to see roped off lanes for viewers of the following feature to use!
I’m thinking there are already enough threads on this film, only differentiated by which forum they’re in. It seems to me we need: one thread on the cinematic aspects of the film (Cafe Society), one for Moore bashers who haven’t seen the film to be proved wrong (BBQ Pit), one to discuss the points made in the movie (Great Debates), and one to discuss the political impact (Great Debates). I’m sure there are other possibilities, but all these generic threads are getting confusing. At least you are one of the few who spelled the title correctly.
There are indeed enough threads on this subject available in the other forums.
