Anyone see the pilot episode of the new USA Network show, Fairly Legal? It is about a lawyer-turned negotiator in San Francisco, and her firm and her family. I thought it was pretty good, and a worthy addition to the USA lineup. Engaging characters, interesting plot, nice scenery, and some cute little touches like her cell phone ring-tones. Also, it is almost a video fast-course in the theory of Fisher and Ury’s “Getting To Yes.”
I’m looking forward to more good episodes. Anyone else?
Good show - but I had to laugh at the preview for the next show (and I am paraphrasing here) “…her most challenging/difficult case yet!”
Well, duh, it is also the SECOND episode, so, like, that isn’t really saying much, is it?
Still - entertaining enough that we will tune in next week to see how it goes.
I was a little disappointed. I liked the running gag of the Wizard of Oz characters, but I found it overall to be almost trying too hard.
BUT sometimes pilots really are among the weakest episodes of a series, so I’m going to give it some time to develop. It definitely wasn’t unwatchable.
Another solid bit of TV comfort food from USA. I’m definitely rooting for Sarah Shahi, mostly because she’s hot, but also because her previous show Life croaked before its time.
Cute, funny and a little too earnest, but I enjoyed it. My spousette loved it - the lead character has kind of a Sandra Bullock thing going on, which I knew she’d love. Plus it’s set in San Francisco, so add points there. I did feel sorry for her running all over creation in those evil high heels though…
I find it mildly amusing that she lives on a boat, yet has to take a ferry to work each day. I’m sure it makes sense if you know the area, but I don’t, so I’ll just sit here being mildly amused by it.
