Fairly obscure comic question:

Did Iron Munro ever find his kid? I spend too much time reading the backstories of DC’s Mystery Men of the 40’s-50’s and this one nagged me for some reason. I’d like to write a story about it, especially as it’s a character that could (IMHO) realistically be used in the current Crisis, given that he has two good reasons for anger against the bad guys, since they took his son and Deathstroke killed his lover.

And my google-fu is not so great. Any chance of a picture of him? I dunno, it’s the little obscure characters that interest me, like him, and Captain Triumph, and Sportsmaster…Golden Age and The New Frontier are two of my all-time favorite graphic novels, that should tell you something.

He’s the character that was invented post-Crisis to fill the “Strong Man” role that Superman played in the real Golden Age stories, right?

Sorry, that is all I know about him. As a filler-retcom I don’t believe any comic book writer has given him as much thought as you have.

Yeah, I’m a sucker for the “Who the hell is that?” people.

Well, he found his dad.

I’m not sure, exactly, as things got crossed and double-crossed, but for a while, Damage was thought to be the kid.

Damage is the Atom’s boy.

Here is a fairly good picture of him.

Really? So he’s the new Manhunter’s uncle?

I don’t know anything about the new Manhunter - she’s related to Atom?

Al Pratt is Damage’s bio-father. I’m not fully versed on Damage’s origins, so I don’t know how Iron Munro fits in - I’m mostly aware of Damage because he’s kin to Atom and Atom Smasher.

She is, as of now.

I do like her. Nice pulp heroine, with a bit of modern sensibility. Do pick her first few up, see what you think. Read it, then re-read as if it was the 40s.

I have heard good things about the series, I just haven’t been able to wedge it into all the others I read, or want to read.
