I don’t think the Brotherhood instilled Maximus’s weird misconceptions about sex, so much as they didn’t bother to correct them. The Brotherhood doesn’t teach sex ed, because that’s not information that helps with the mission. Maximus is an orphan, so he didn’t have parents/family to teach him about it. And he’s notable unpopular with his peer group, who like to kick the shit out of him recreationally - half of what he’s “learned” about sex was probably fed to him by other Brotherhood recruits because it was funny messing with him.
Yeah, I agree, this is the most likely scenario.
Well, to be fair, I think one of the strongest world elements they built into the show was how effing stupid people would be who grew up post-war.

I’d completely forgotten. I pointed out last night that I hope we at least see some suggestion that SMs are around. Which I guess we’ve already had. My wife pointed out that there may not be many left on the west coast if there isn’t any green stuff / FEV to be had, as they’re sterile. But Vault 4 shows a lot of mutating going on.
