Unfortunately, this is ugly. I’ve emailed my sister and she refused to provide a straight answer. I don’t know what she and her husband are planning on doing, but she won’t answer even basic questions by email. I had included my other sister as a cc, and she had not included the other sister in the reply.
I’ve retained counsel in GA and will turn it over to them

Good for you. I was one of the people in the previous thread telling you to forget about it, but it’s clear your BIL is dragging your poor mom into something shady. She’s too old for that crap.
IMHO you’ve been playing monday morning quarterback far too much. Maybe Mom is getting screwed. Maybe not. But I don’t recall you doing anything to help her move or improve your situation. Help, and I mean really help, or get out of the way.
Sorry to hear that it’s so ugly - closing this and retaining counsel sounds like your best bet to me, too. My very best wishes for you and your mom, that you can untangle her from what your brother-in-law has gotten her into.
