I’m off to the but’n’ben* in Perthshire for a week of tramping around the hills and general avoidance of the trappings of modern life. That said, I’ll be taking my laptop (I’m in the middle of a particularly tense game of Europa Universalis), and will try and get on-line via my mobile phone, but past experience suggests that this will be a slow and frustrating experience.

  • the but’n’ben is a glorified shack but it is in one of the beautiful places on the planet and I love it to bits.

That sounds nice, Struan – I personally like being totally offline for a week when I’m on vacation – but I’ve never gone on vacation in the middle of a hot game of Family Feud.
