Family Feud!

The Liberty Bell is at Independence Hall. (It’s actually across the street in its own pavilion.)

Just sayin’.

Sears Tower
John Hancock Building
US Capitol

USS Arizona Memorial
The Alamo

“The Hollywood Sign”? (Hey, I’m from LA!)

Man this is hard. If the Vietnam memorial isn’t on the list…what is?

What about that Iwo Jima statue?

I also like the Lincoln Memorial since it’s on the penny.

Wow…someone just walked by and handed me a penny. Fate?

The first one I thought of was the Lincoln Memorial. GMTA

Well, we’ve got six shots at it, so the odds are on our side. I personally like Independence Hall, but am willing to go with Lincoln Memorial if that’s what people want.

If we’re still discussing – Pentagon and Alamo also sound good to me.

Sleepless night!

Blue Team, a consensus please. Somebody take charge and get this done.
I will work up my next list.

Didn’t see localation-Scotland.

You’re right- the last two have been slanted to US players. I now get your earlier comment about the lists becoming parochial.

They have and I am sorry about that. I missed that one player was not US/Canada. Is **Straun ** the only non-North American? I would be happy to take feedback on the lists.

JpnDude, I think you mentioned you are from California, is that correct?
Jim

It’s no biggy, it’s not difficult to research the possible answers, it just becomes tricky to decide which ones an American would pick.

My name is Struan, not Straun, btw. I get that quite a lot in real life too, though. Not to mention the dreaded Strewen. Bloody obscure-naming parents! :stuck_out_tongue:

That’s correct sir. I’m a Southern Calfornian, just spending my 13th year in Japan.

Concensus is…

Lincoln Memorial, our final answer.

Sorry, that is why I usually cut and paste user names. The next list will be fairly generic to English speaking nations. I take it the Circus list was ok.

Yeah circuses are pretty universal in form I guess. Doesn’t really explain why I went with alligator though. :smack:

It was on the Barnum and Bailey website, and I actually had jotted it down, too. So, not so bad, Struan.

Name Famous US Buildings/Monuments. (No Bridges)

Blue team for the steal says: **Lincoln Memorial ** …

Show me the back of a US Penny…

DING DING, the Number 4 answer and 6 more points for Blue.

  1. Empire State Building
  2. White House
  3. Pentagon
  4. Lincoln Memorial
  5. The Statue of Liberty
  6. The Seattle Space Needle
  7. The Chrysler Building
  8. Washington Monument
  9. The St. Louis Arch
  10. Sears Tower
  11. Mount Rushmore

Three Strikes, Red is Out.
X *for World Trade Centers *
X for Golden Gate Bridge
X Vietnam Wall

The score is now 21 for Blue and 0 for Red. The next list will post in 30 minutes or so.
Small note about my lists, I am trying to use 3-5 sources to determine the answers and the rankings. For this list, once I determined the 11 items, I used Google to give each its votes, but jumped the ESB over the White House & Pentagon that gets many extra hits for being in the National news daily. The ESB was by far the highest Google hit on the list except for these two. I was surprised by how well the Space Needle did.

Yay, Blue!!!

The score is now 21 for Blue and 0 for Red.

Name the funniest (talking) movies.

There are 12 answers on the board this time.

*Note: This is a very arbitrary list, so I tried to orient it to the SDMB. That should be a small clue. *

Bad question – too subjective.

But:

The Producers. (The original, of course.)

Woo-hoo! GO BLUE!

I think this is the longest thread I’ve ever participated in. WOW!
