Family Feud!

Hmph. (The infinitely lesser) Young Frankenstein and Blazing Saddles make it, and The Producers doesn’t?

Har-freakin’-rumph.

Airplane?

Okay…breath…breath…gotta pull one for the team…

I’m thinking for my guess I’m going to pull out of this 1970s streak, and go with another very funny, very SDMB-ish movie – that all time Marx Brothers classic…

DUCK SOUP!!

crosses fingers

**Name the funniest (talking) movies. **

I believe I can find support from multiple locations for my choices. I really do have a method, it seems to be working ok. (Hey, get off my back)

  • Surely you can’t be serious.*, Show me Kentucky Fried Airplane! …

Ding! The number 4 answer.

  • Gentlemen, Chicolini here may talk like an idiot, and look like an idiot, but don’t let that fool you: he really is an idiot. I implore you, send him back to his father and brothers, who are waiting for him with open arms in the penitentiary. I suggest that we give him ten years in Leavenworth, or eleven years in Twelveworth.* … Do we have Duck Soup?

Quack! The number 2 answer. I do believe Red is on quite a roll.

  1. Monty Python and the Holy Grail (1975)
  2. Duck Soup (1933)
  3. Young Frankenstein (1974)
  4. Airplane! (1980)

Heh, you are doing great with the quotes What Exit.

Get ready to steal BLUE team. Better dead than red.

Blues Brothers

Eat my goal Blue-team peon, the Red Army counter-offensive has begun!

</hyperbole>

Eat my goal??? What the heck does that mean, anyway?

Office Space

It’s a Partridge thing!

Ohhh… that there soccer stuff. Gotcha!

The show that comes from was called The Day Today which used hyper-news as a parody - unfortunately it was merely prescient. Worth looking for, along with Alan Partridge’s spin off chat show “Knowing Me Knowing You”, and the two series of “I’m Alan Partridge!” which document his decline to the pre-dawn host on Radio Norwich after accidentally killing a guest on his prime time show.

Survey says, Do I get a Stapler? where’s Office Space

Bzzz … Sorry that’s Strike 1 X

He’s on a mission from God, so Show me the **Blues Brothers ** …

That leaves only Kat

The score is 21 for Blue and 0 for Red.

“Blues Brothers” was going to be my guess.

For what it is worth, I find it funnier than several movies that made my list. It would be in my top 10 in a heart beat, but you see when it came to making the list, …

*… I ran out of gas. I, I had a flat tire. I didn’t have enough money for cab fare. My tux didn’t come back from the cleaners. An old friend came in from out of town. Someone stole my car. There was an earthquake. A terrible flood. Locusts. IT WASN’T MY FAULT, I SWEAR TO GOD. *

Really, I needed the list not to be my top 12 list, but one that would have a more universal appeal with a slant to the SDMB. I would rather watch Blues Brothers than Duck Soup and I love Duck Soup.

Jim

No worries. I guess IMDB is as close we can get to a general survey. Anyway, wasn’t the original Family Feud based on a “100-people” survey? So IMDB has a bigger sample. I have a good guess in mind in case we get a chance to steal!

The Princess Bride

**Name the funniest (talking) movies. **

You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means
