Family of 4 in Barcelona for 2 nights- where to stay???

I am having one hell of a time finding a hotel in Barcelona for the family. With 2 kids, we don’t seem to fit in a Euro hotel room, and they aren’t really old enough to have their own room (ages 8 & 10). Maybe two rooms that connect, but…

Any ideas, tips, great places you have stayed? We’ll be there for 2 nights at the end of July…

Thanks!

The Gran Via has some connecting rooms, and the website says it has a family room too.

It may cater more to the business crowd than you want, but it is very central.

There are very few hotels that will have connecting rooms, but any hotel will give you adjacent rooms. Do your kids sleep with you at home, that being in the next room in a hotel will be a problem?

I might be missing something but are you comfortable with one room with two double beds? I stayed at the Hotel Soho in September. A nice place, at a good price in a decent location. I didn’t see any kids there though.

My other suggestion would be to check out tripadvisor.com. It might help you find what you are looking for.

They sleep in their own rooms, but their rooms don’t have a door to the outside.

We found a great B&B on TripAdvisor that would be perfect, but they said they won’t take less than a three-night booking… that may be a nice way of saying they don’t want kids…

I’m sorry, are you serious? Maybe you think it’s a motel and not a hotel?

If you live in a house, from their bedroom(s) to the street it’s one door, maybe one flight of stairs, street door.

In a hotel, it’s one door, an elevator/several flights of stairs, walk in front of the Reception desk, street door.

I’m really and sincerely confused about why an arrangement which works for thousands of families every year would be unsafe for yours.

Wow, I must be seriously unclear today! I meant a room by themselves with corridor access- not worried as much about them leaving as I am of someone other than my husband & I coming in, I guess.

We travel all over the world, but with them both under the age of 10, they don’t stay in their own hotel rooms. Makes sense to me, but maybe I’m just weird.

When we were in Barcelona a few years ago, we stayed in a suite here. The suite contained two rooms, one with a double bed and sitting area where my husband and I slept, and one with two twin beds where our boys slept. Plus a tiny kitchen area where we made breakfast every morning. I’ll admit it’s not Barcelona’s best neighborhood, but we never felt unsafe, either. And it’s within walking distance of most of what we wanted to see. Great people, too!
