Fanfare for the Common Man

At an anti-war rally I attended today, a band played “Fanfare for the Common Man,” by Aaron Copeland (sp.?). I felt as though I had heard the song a thousand times before, but I couldn’t place it. Can anyone here tell me which movies and/or television programs this song is associated with?

Everything. Everywhere. Seriously. It’s played quite a lot.

It’s stirring and it’s absurdly simple and easy to play, and everyone recognizes it. Perfect peice to use for a million occasions.

It has been used as the Olympic theme.

But yeah, basically everywhere.

Just attend the inauguration of any politician who wants to be considered a man (or woman) of the people.

Emerson, Lake and Palmer do a quite rousing version of it.
