Simple question, you have the #1 pick in your Fantasy Football draft. Who do you take?
I take Adrian Peterson.
I like Chris Johnson but I am concerned about his workload.
Mike Vick? Tough to take a QB #1, and Vicks style makes me wary he can last.

I think kickers are the most important players, especially in my league. I strongly encourage all of my opponents to draft kickers in the first round, and backup kickers in the second round.

Arian Foster. Young, durable back who doesn’t lose many carries and plays on a high powered offense.
Foster in a ppr league.
AP in a standard.
Akers in Oaks.
Vick has the most upside but is extremely high risk. For me its a tossup between Vick and AP(for most standard rules leagues).
There isn’t a credible argument for taking Vick in the top 5, let alone the top pick.
How do you know he’s durable? He’s only been a starter for one year.
Really? Vick scored 29.7 points per game in 2010. That’s the highest per-game output of any player with at least 10 starts in fantasy football history - including Brady and Manning in their record seasons. Philly also has the second easiest schedule for fantasy quarterbacks in the league.
Obviously, he’s a huge injury risk, and with Philly likely to be a juggernaut this season, he may not get as much opportunity to run or throw in the second half of games. However, there is absolutely a credible argument to be made for drafting him.
ETA: With all that being said, I’d take Chris Johnson, assuming he’s in camp soon.
I’d take Vick in the lower part of the first round in a snake draft. I’d then take Vince Young at the end of the draft, just before d/st and kicker. I’d have to drop Young at the Eagles bye week and grab a bye week replacement.
Off course this would depend on the size of the league. I wouldn’t take a backup QB in a ten team or less league.
Being a huge injury risk in a position that doesn’t have the scarcity that RB does completely eliminates him from the top spot. I will happily give up 5-6 points a week at the QB slot and take any of CJ/Foster/AP and a top-tier QB in the 2nd round before I’d take Vick in the first and the 14th RB on the board.
Seconded.
