Kind of like in the Kung Fu TV series, but with fantastical elements from Eastern mythology; wandering monk-type character, meets people who need help, encounters various villians, etc. He usually defeats his foes (if he even deigns to consider them such) with his wisdom and/or cleverness, not so often with his fists. IIRC there was a series like this, but durned if I can remember what it was called, or who wrote it…
