Do you think I should buy this game? I am after a good FPSU and cant wait for Half Life 2 to come out. I don’t know much about gaming, though I enjoyed Return to Catle Wolfenstein.
I did a SDMB search on the PC game “Far Cry” and turned up nothing.
What’s the verdict - anything better than Far Cry?

I’ve played the two demos (get them both), and I highly recommend it.

Jake4. I realised that the search didnt work because the quotes dont force the search engine to combine the two 3 letter words as one string. Using ‘farcry’ I found three earlier threads. Sounds like far cry is pretty good.
I can only reply based on second-hand knowledge.
My SO purchased FarCry, and I am now a FarCry widow. Not that I mind, because the game is absolutely brilliant to watch.
The graphics are beautiful. Interaction with the general environment is possible. There are multiple ways to reach your goal usually. The story is interesting (sort of Island of Doctor Moreau meets Terminator meets Predator). The enemies are fairly intimidating until you figure out what you’re supposed to do.
Moral: I don’t even play it, and my social life has seriously suffered for it, but I still say it’s a kickass FPS. Buy it.
