I wanted to include “and gets married” in the subject head, but I ran out of room.
Anyway, I have to go away for awhile. I’m graduating from law school this coming weekend, and as my apartment is closing up, I won’t have access to a phone line for awhile. But I’m done. I’m in the first graduating class of the Ave Maria School of Law. I’ll have my juris doctor. And let me say: it’s good to have these three years finished.
Since I’m taking the bar this August, my free time is shot: I’ll be spending most of the day studying, and the remainder of the time hanging out with my lovely new fiance. Which means: yep, less internet. I’ll be Dopeless for the foreseeable future. It’s not that I don’t want to, it’s just that it has to be this way. I MIGHT peek my head in every so often, but it’ll be a rare event.
I’m leaving Michigan early Monday morning. I need to give a salute to all the MI Dopers who made me feel so damn welcome out here, and gave me a crowd of people other than conservative-stick-up-their-asses Catholics to hang out with. CrankyAsAnOldMan, you’re the best. Your hospitality was a blessing to a guy who walked into a room of complete strangers. Persephone, your hugs made me feel like part of the family. Kyla, you’re a kindred spirit in a strange land, and I hope you and Cranky take good care of each other. Credit also goes to Hello Again, Zappo, Juniper200, Mr Blue 92, and anyone else whom I have neglected to mention. Thank you. I’ve never met a crowd of people who could quote the Simpsons as well as I, much less sing the entire Stonecutters theme song.
I’ll be back full-time come August, I promise. But please know that there will be a Dope-shaped hole in my heart until then.
