Although he was best known for his roles in musical theater, Presnell also is remembered as William H. Macy’s father-in-law in the Coen brothers’ 1996 film “Fargo.”*

“I’m not talking about your damn word, Jerry.”

“I got your damn money now where’s my daughter?”

Aw, man! Maria is crying tonight.

Celebrities are dropping like flies!

Most people don’t know that Presnell started out as a romantic lead in The Unsinkable Molly Brown. After it flopped, his movie career died until he came back as a character actor in the 90s. I also remember him as Mr. Parker in The Pretender.

RIP, Harve. You betcha!

He was hilarious in the short-lived Andy Barker, P.I.. RIP.

I’m not sure he’s a celebrity. He’s just an actor.

“If I’m only getting bank interest, I want bank security!”

RIP

He was also a very convincing General Marshall in Saving Private Ryan.

He was also Rotten Luck Willie, the gambler in Paint Your Wagon. What a voice!

I guess it was back in '79 or '80 I saw Presnell as Daddy Warbucks in the touring company of “Annie.” He was fantastic!

RIP Harve.

Heck, FDIC. I don’t see nothin’ like that here!

About Ryan:

And we are gonna get him the hell… outta there.

What do you think they do down there? They don’t drink milkshakes, I can assure you.

That’s the first show I thought of. After having to listen to Clint Eastwood and Lee Marvin “sing” it was a real treat to hear Presnell do They Call the Wind Maria.

And geez, I didn’t recognize him as Mr. Parker!
