Harry Carey Jr. - passed today

I thought he’d died thirty years ago. But, apparently he’s been going strong and in good health right up until age 91.

I recall a few John Wayne movies that Harry Carey Jr. was in. He had a bit part in Back to the Future III. If you’re an old movie fan then you’ll probably recognize his face even if the name doesn’t ring a bell.

The only thing I can actually recall him in was as a biker in “Mask” (Cher, Eric Stoltz, Laura Dern, etc.). But, yeah, he had quite a career.

Holey moley, look at his IMDb entry. From Back to the Future III and Cherry 2000 to Mr. Roberts and The Searchers.

I knew the name but had no idea.

(He was also on some episodes of Branded. I wonder if any of those were by Arthur Digby Sellers.;))

I thought it was discussing the offspring of the famous baseball announcer (until I noticed the “e” in the last name)…

Doesn’t he live over by the In 'N Out Burger? The one on Radford, not on Camrose.

He went by Skip, and died 4 years ago, a little more than 10 years after his dad.

He was in Spin and Marty also!

Wow, I had no idea he was still around. Sorry to hear of his death, he was in some wonderful movies (like a zillion John Ford westerns.)

He wrote a book about being part of the John Ford stock company. He was always pleasant to watch and a great horseman. He and Ben Johnson had to learn to stand on the saddle while the horse was running full speed for one of Ford’s cavalry movies. My introduction to him was as the ranch foreman on Spin and Marty. It was definitely worth running home from school to see when they serialized it on the Mickey Mouse Club.

Oh, nooo… He has health problems.
