Would the trooper’s car usually have a camera switched on at the time he was outside the sheriff’s place, when Gator shot ‘at’ him?
One thing about the dream sequence that Dot figured out - she, literally, knows where the body (bodies?) are buried - she picked up the postcard from under the windmill in her dream.
OF course, witnessing them drop the body there only served to confirm it.
There’s also the matter of jurisdiction. Before a raid, the staties and feds would want to coordinate with…the local Sheriff’s Department.

Graves and the graves are literally in the same location.

Yeah. I was wondering that at the time. I forgot about it until you mentioned it
Gator reminds me so much of Don Trump Jr. He has the same hair and mannerisms and the same relationship with his daddy. In the real life case, he got the Jr name against his father’s reservations.
Is Gator his real name? Or is it Alex or Alistair?

Yes - that scene in the previous episode, where she stopped in the middle of nowhere, walked across a field and pulled a stashed box out from under a windmill, didn’t make a whole lot of sense until we found out that the real Linda was dead, and where the body was.

Why isn’t the FBI surrounding that ranch, with confirmation from a state trooper of a kidnapping? Fargo world, I guess.
Like he told Danish - She said she was going of her own free will - that ties his hands. Witt could see in her eyes that she was terrified, but she wouldn’t say it, so he can’t call out the cavalry.

plus the wife talking about the “curse,”
Anyone who has lived in an abusive household knows, there was going to be a beating that night. She was just trying to make sure it wasn’t her, or her daughters. She aimed him away from the house.
The phrasing was interesting though “She’s the albatross, not me.” I guess her status as concubine/wife has been held up to humiliate her fairly often. Poor twisted little thing.

Karen (#3) hasn’t given Roy a son, so she’s been the “cursed” one. Linda (#1) gave him an unworthy son, which is why Dot (#2) became her replacement. Roy thinks of Dot as the one that would have given (could still give) him a strong son.

I mean, they’ve had one pregnancy - twin girls. We haven’t been led to believe they can’t have another.

a strong son.
Which in his mind is defined by what we would call psychopathy. Gator is constantly undermined by a conscience.

Gator is constantly undermined by a conscience.
Is that it? I thought it was him being a total dumbass. I mean, he had no qualms about leading a man to his death to avoid having to pay him off, it’s just he was too stupid to not get taken hostage. Likewise, no qualms about pushing around an old woman, just too stupid to not push her back onto the parent (resulting in a murder).
Nothing about Gator screams “conscience” to me, only “dumbass.” I get that he wasn’t born that way and he was both abused and witnessed horrific abuse as a child, but the end result is someone with no qualms about killing. What he lacks now are the brains to do it right. He could well be the lion, the scarecrow, and the tin man all rolled into one (though I suppose that depends on whether he is specifically a coward—any incidents come to mind? Certainly he lacks the courage to stand up to his father.).
Speaking of homages to other stories, when Dot walked on the first puppet show, I couldn’t help but notice the Punch and Judy similarity. And that Punch and Judy also includes a crocodilian.

Gator is constantly undermined by a conscience.
I think it is more bad luck and incompetence.

“Tell Jerome to call the orange idiot. It’s time I got something for my money.”

Is the line “if you’re so clever why are you dead?” a line from another movie, a famous on? It sounds very familiar.
Maybe next week Roy will warn the FBI that he’s going to release the dogs. Or the bees. Or the dogs with bees in their mouths and when they bark they shoot bees at you.
OMG the YMCA song was totally apropos. I have always said those “militia” groups have a repressed gay vibe.

“Tell Jerome to call the orange idiot. It’s time I got something for my money.”
Yeah, it seems like the orange idiot signed the orders to take down the group that worships the orange idiot.
Yeah, I noted that too. It was a little incongruous.

No, the Local Sheriff. Not trump. Similar ideals, but not the same side.
