Farscape- Season 3(Spoilers)

What have you fellow Scapers thought so far about the new season? We are 12 eps. in and I have to say that this is one weird show.

Nearly every ep. this season has been arc related, but they now seem to have two shows running.

One is Moyascape, where the one Crichton is. They are busy trying to locate a specific wormhole, while at the same time Scorpy has found one and is trying to stop liquification of anyone who goes through it.

The other is Talynscape, where the other Crichton is. Here, they are dealing with Crais and the retrieval squad who is chasing them(do you really think Crais killed Xalax, Aeryn’s mother?). Also, Crais seems to be hiding several things.

There are many unanswered questions. What do you think about these?

**How do you think they will resolve the two-Crichton issue? Remember, they aren’t clones. They are both the original.

Why did John(Moya) bleed in the episode with the energy rider(Losing Time)?

Will Jool be wearing more revealing outfits like she has the past two eps.?

Will John(either) join Scorpius when he learns of his true intentions?

Is Scorpius the main villain or are the Scaarans? Or the PeaceKeepers?

Why does John’s ship(Farscape One) go through wormholes unharmed?

What did Stark learn about Crais from being connected to Talyn?

How come Chiana is gaining some esp, as seen at the end of the ep. “Eat Me”(where she was also twinned)?

So many questions and only 10 eps. to go in this season(but Sci-Fi will drag it on until until September, then wait until January to air the finale).

Come on, tell me I’m not the only one addicted to this show?

I’m totally fascinated with this show, I’ve been addicted since the pilot  Here’s my take on your questions:

My bet is on Chrichton on Talyn being eventually taken out of the equation. He’s had sex with Aeryn, they’ve gotten really bonded together, and I think that’d be the best way that the creators could introduce new conflict. As to how he’s taken out, I’m still pondering. Perhaps when the two crews rendezvous he’ll be a casualty in the first attempts at wormhole travel. Maybe his counterpart will kill him in a fit of jealousy. Perhaps he’ll ally with Scorpy… we’ll see.

I think they noted in that ep. that Chricton bled because he’s a weaker species than the others.

We can only hope. slobber

Possible, but doubtful. After Friday’s ep. with Chrichton inside Scorpy’s head, we get some insight to what Chrichton’s reaction would be. (ala “If you’re not smart enough to decode the information, then you’re not smart enough to use it wisely.”)

Scorpy’s the main villain, IMHO. The PK’s are his puppets - I doubt they’d be searching so hard for Talyn and Moya without Scorpious’s prodding (Note from early episodes how it was Crais’s desire for vengeance that kept his PK vessel on Moya’s tail when regulations stated they should just abort the mission). Scaarans are also nasty lil bastards, but they’re focused on defeating PK’s, not our brave heroes; therefore it could be asked, “Is the enemy of my enemy my friend?

From Saturday’s episode, it was basically gathered that John was a Lucky Frell™. It was said that the liquification results from travelling through unstable wormholes. Apparently John has only travelled stable wormholes.

Probably learned what I’ve suspected a while - Talyn’s a rebellious teenager. He dislikes everyone on board, especially those who try to force him to do anything. Crais is constantly ordering Talyn around, and lately he’s had to be more and more strict in his demands to have any compliance from Talyn. The only exception here would be Aeryn, who I think Talyn has a crush on, perhaps a result from her DNA combination with Pilot (DNA Mad Scientist - Season 1)

My observation was that she gained her ESP abilities towards the end of the energy rider episode, the outcome from her temporary possession by the alien entity. Perhaps they’ll use this to get her a little more screentime, aside from her spats with Jool.

Heck no  2 days 22 hours 'til next episode!

This show is just too cool. Since B5 went off the air, it’s my one true sci-fi fix.

I have been hearing about this show a lot lately. I’d like to check it out for myself.

Anyone know if it’s airing in Canada?

I’ll take a stab at it as well…

I see Scorpius involved.

I do not recall.

Eh, who cares.

Based on the last episode with Scorpius’ upbringing and history, I’d say no - the virtual Crichton told him to piss off, so I doubt the real one would do any less.

The Scaarans, but Scorpius and the Peacekeepers might be lying.

That was already revealed. The chick on Scorpius’ staff trying to solve that problem defected after successfully transversing the wormhole and promised the knowledge to John if she could take Moya and Pilot exploring deep space. She claimed that the radiation (or whatever it was that’s been causing the pilots to liquify) is variable, and it was sheer luck that Crichton didn’t get frelled. She was going to share the info with them, but then discovered that she was on the way of getting liquified herself - her shielding merely delayed the process.

Too many secrets, I’m sure. Talyn, after all, has been linked to Crais and shares neural tissue Crais spliced into Talyn to help speed his recovery.

It gives her something to do.

One or the other is frelled. Utterly. I vote scarface since he’s got Aeryn, and they’d love to take that away.

I don’t like Jool, yet. And she appears to alien for me to be attracted. I said the same about Chianna initailly too, however…

If Scorpy can hand him (most likely Smoothface) Earth, and promise to leave his friends alone, and gurantee the Sol system freedom from the Peacekeepers, then yes.

Depends on your point of view. Scorpy’s the greatest threat to the crew of Moya, the PK’s (assuming they’re still out there, I do believe Crais killed Aeryn’s mother, why wouldn’t he?) to Talyn, but the Scarrans are a threat to everyone in the universe, if Scorpius is to be believed, and I think he is. The PK’s, at least, have a sense of honor and duty, and are pretty.

I’m not sure it’s a simple as the researcher made it out to be. I’m also wondering about the wormhole aliens that Moya collided with. When will they be back?

What he already told Aeryn and John. The cybernetic bleedback, the sores, Talyn’s increasingly rebellious nature.

Btw, anyone else think it was odd that Talyn and Stark could do that? You know, link up as if he was a pilot? Oh well.

Oh, not at all. I can’t recall better sci-fi on television.

I’m loving how Scorpius and Crichton have effectively reversed positions. One’s wrestling with inner demons, while the other is searching frantically for wormholes.

Another question: What is the connection between Jool’s race and humanity? They’re genetically compatible, but seem very different.

That was also explained in the following episode. You see Crais fire at a tree, and convince Areyn’s mother to return to the Peacekeepers with a deal - he’d hand over Talyn, Areyn, Moya and the crew if he got amnesty and could rejoin the Peacekeepers. Then he looks at the camera and says, “Is that what you think happened?” at which point we see Crais and Crichton arguing on the bridge of Talyn - it was just a possible scenario, but it was a plausible one.

I still think there is a reason that John’s ship can go through wormholes. I think it has to do with Earth-technology that can not possibly be had where they are now(irony of ironies, the inferior human has one aspect of his ship that is superior, Farscape loves to do this).

Do you guys like the third season as much as the first two? I’m thinking that it has a lot of promise, but may not be able to deliver as big and exciting climax as last year. Last year, everything came together perfectly whith the Liars, Guns, and Money trilogy. It’d be difficult to beat that.

Yeah, I think one John will die. It’s the Season of Death, afterall.

Season 3 is rockin’ so don’t bother knockin’. Of course, I do have some complaints, the largest of which is that Zhann is gone and that gibbering moron Stark is supposed to take her place. As if.

I don’t care for Jool’s personality at the moment, but GOD, those abs and those legs…who knows, maybe she’ll grow on me.

I too believe that the Crichton on Talyn will die. It’s like in those war movies: the guy who has the most to live for will always be the one who gets killed.

Who agrees with me that Scorpius is, like, the most evilest villain anywhere, ever? He looks like a monster, but talks like he was educated at Oxford, he enjoys torturing others, he kills with casual whimsy, and he eats brains, just like Hannibal. He’s just…wrong, on so many levels.

I really love this show but I FUCKING HATE STARK!!!
I hate him sooooo much. Always yelling “We’re going to die” and over-reacting and just carrying on like, like…dammit! I HATE him!
SHUT UP YOU TOOL!

The puppet/muppet/whatever work on Pilot and Dominar Buckwheat (who’s real name I just blanked on) just keeps getting better and better.

Question:
Why are there 2 Crichtons? I can remember a scene at the end of an episode where the 2 of them are playing rock/paper/scissors and neither can beat the other but I can’t recall how we ended up with 2 of them.

I loved that device. Caught me totally off-guard. But I don’t buy that scenario. Crais wants Talyn for his own ends, not merely to hand over to the PK’s. Or else he’d have done so long ago. He knew that the elder Sung wouldn’t relent, and probably wouldn’t deal. No, she’s dead.

Mahaloth-

Or else human (and probably Jool’s) anatomy.

Max Torque-

Actually, I like Scorpy b/c he’s charismatic and sympathetic in his own way. Think about, for sheer racism, the PK’s rival the Nazis, yet Scorpius managed to work his way up through the ranks by sheer force of will and skill, devising a cure for a debilitating condition. You’ll notice that the only other non-Sebacians (Sung’s very disposible mercenaries aside) we’ve seen in PK company have been on his staff. I don’t think he enjoys torture, so much as he sees it necessary to achieve his ultimate ends, which, given what he sees the Skaarans as being, are good, if not heroic and noble.

I like Stark, but I wish they’d just tone him down a bit. When we first met him, he was faking it with the “my side, your side” bit. Geez. Y’see. That’s why Scorpy’s cool. He doesn’t need a tagline.

Jool? No. Just, no. I can’t deal with the high forehead and veins and stuff. No thanks! Chiana, on the otherhand, makes my knees week. ::long sigh combined with a deep slouch into my chair:: Oh man… she’s so dreamy. Hubba hubbah. I could go on like this for hours. Someone please hold me down and stop me. I say someone but I mean, specifically, Chiana.

Stark is too over the top for it to be coincidental. First, when he gets serious, he gets serious, spiritually, and I can relate to that (and I see echoes of the teachings of Zhann in that). Second, I think something is going to happen to change him, hence the way he’s acting now will ridiculously contrast what he’s going to become. And him telling Crais, “I know,” kinda creeped me out. Personally, I’ll bet the guy’s a great actor, and will have a chance to stretch his legs with the character later in the series.

Just a guess, tho.

Esprix

Paul Goddard(Stark) is even in the Matrix. Yeah, he’s one of the agents(the other two that aren’t Smith). He has a couple lines.

He busts into the room when Smith is looking closely at Morpheus and says, “What are you doing?”

He checks Neo’s pulse and looks up and says, “He’s gone.”

Not much, but he’s in it. No, he’s not in the two sequels.

Just shut the FRELL up! I think since both Chritions know about worm hole technology, one will try to go through it first and fail. That is how they will get rid of a Chriton.

Last nights episode (“Scratch 'n Sniff”, 7/20) was one of the funniest I’d seen so far. The image of D’Argo getting funky on the dance floor, be-bopping around and chasing anything with a female attribute, was hilarious.

Interesting use of camera work throughout.

As to Stark…I just think he need some Prozac.

Since I work a travelling job, and not every hotel includes The Sci-Fi Channel, I missed a lot of the beginning of season 3.

So how did Chricton get hisself duplicated?

I agree. That was funky.

Chricton was duplicated when he and a few other of the crew went aboard an adrift Leviathan that was an insane asylum for one inmate. The inmate had the power to “twin” people with some gun doohickey on his arm. He’d then eat the brain of one of the twins, and leave the other for more twinning and meals in the future. Unfortuanately, after this repeats about forty times, the subject becomes a feral beast, which is what had happened to the guards, who were slowly eating the ship and its pilot.

D’Argo and Chiana were both twinned as well as John, but one of each pair was killed. Both Johns survived. They aren’t clones or copies and each has an equal claim of being the original.

Anyone notice that, at the moment, there are three Scorpii? The real one and the one in each Chrichton’s head. Cool.

I looooovvvvee Farscape.

Does anybody know why Virginia Hey/Hay/whatever left the show? I miss Zhann!

Virginia Hey left the show much to her surprise, actually. She wanted to take an extended vacation from the show because of the makeup used on her head. She actually shaved her head for the part and the makeup closed her pores and was making her sick. She wanted to leave temporarily, but they killed her character.

She said she was shocked when she read the script where she dies. She didn’t get it. Anyway, she is gone now and signed with another show(I forget the name). Kinda sad.

Thanks, Mahaloth. That was bugging me. I think that the producers made a mistake on that call.
