Farthest distance between places you've lived?

San Diego (where I was born and where I was stationed in the Navy for 2 years) to where I am now - 2683 miles. I’m not counting the 6 months in Sicily, since that was just a deployment.

Realistically, about 1.5 iles (as anyone who knows their Metric prefixes can tell you, 1 ile = 1000 miles) as the magpie flies, or 1.7 iles by road, from Bozeman, MT to Cleveland, OH. I can stretch that out to 1.8 iles / 2.1 iles by counting Villanova, PA, where I went to undergrad, but I never really considered that “home”, despite living there 8 months out of the year for four years.

10,400 from California to small town South Africa.

I don’t think you’re me, I’ll double check. I make it 8,520 miles from Manila, where I lived as a kid, to NYC (I actually live on Long Island, but the nearest airport is in the City).

2,610 miles, between San Diego and Wahiawa HI.

Born in Chicago, in 1949 (ought to be a blues lyric …) …

Oxford, Miss. and Palmer, Alaska have both been home to me = 3,179 mi.

Palmer to where I live now is 3,306 miles! I’m really crankin’ 'em up

I’ve only lived in the US, but I get 3,220 ish from Orono, ME to San Diego.

Two virtually identical distances top my list:

Geelong, Australia to London, England: 10,505 miles
Geelong, Australia to Amherst, Massachusetts, 10,497 miles.

If I measure from the actual street addresses, it gets even closer, 10,503 miles vs 10,500 miles.

Counting a deployment since I had no other “home” at the time - 4,984 miles
Not counting that just shy of 700 miles

From my birth-through-college metro area to where I live now is 2650 miles. 2973 miles is the greatest separation between any two places I’ve lived for more than a year.

Around 13,300 km (~8,250 miles) from San Diego, where I’ve lived most of my life to Ho Chi Minh City, where I lived from 2003-2005 and 2008-2009.

Buggiba, Malta to Pereira, Colombia. About 6,041 miles between the airports.

Auckland, New Zealand to London, UK - 11,388 miles. I’m winning so far.

Damn near the same - Melbourne to Northampton, Massachusetts is 10,433 miles.

“45.5 miles (In current traffic: 1 hour 32 mins)” according to Google Maps. I think that earns me the silver medal for smallest distance.

Possibly increased to 2,700 miles in the not-too-distant future, though.

Bound to be some doper who’s lived in the South Island of New Zealand and Ireland or Scotland. Anyone?

Only 8113 miles for me, Bendigo Australia to Santa Clara California.

4,800 miles Albany, GA, to Villefranche-sur-Mer, France

Currently about 5,600 miles from the last place in the US I lived.
