Fascism, hope(lessness) and Trump's America

That’s exactly my point: plenty of posts here have literally predicted concentration camps, and not just the obvious individual. So maybe there’s another possibility: exaggeration.

Which is why I mentioned the possibility of hunkering down armed.

But I realize we disagree about whether our current American lifestyle is compatible with “the end of democracy.” Thing is, I’m not entirely sure a lot of people (in general) have really even tried to consider it, and have the worst case scenario in mind by default as a result. Thus my posts.

As I said earlier it is also possible that people are not behaving in a way you would expect. They are reacting to the end of American Democracy (and possibly death camps) the way they think makes sense.

IMO “hunkering down armed” is much less likely to be a successful strategy than moving to an area where you can count on your neighbors not plotting to harm you.

I’m armed and live remote. I’m about to retire. I have enough money, provided that the economy is not utterly and completely destroyed and a loaf of bread costs $100. And that those greedy fucks don’t manage to get to my money.

I’m well diversified though, and own my own home car etc. And hopefully they will not be able to get to that.

What worries me (and I’m being selfish) is health care. I could see them pushing Medicare up to 70, and throwing a wrench in our already screwed up health care system.
