Why is Hunter wearing a scratch funnel or whatever you call that thing around his neck?
And how cool is Grandpa having to play Gandalf! And Dick Cheney the Chainsaw?

Just because. And it’s funnier that way. What other reason is needed?
It’s called an Elizabethan collar, or an e-collar. Well, our behaviorist calls it “the cone of shame”, but that’s really the accepted terminology. In this instance, I think it’s supposed to be a symbol of his dorkiness, the feline equivalent to headgear or coke-bottle glasses.
I found this episode to be one of the best yet. “If your head were any bigger, I’d feel sorry for your hat maker”.
The balance they’ve found between S&R and the lion family seems to be working pretty well, with tonight’s episode exhibiting it best.
They should have just canned the computerization crap and gone with straight animation. I find the bad CGI, or whatever it is, so distracting that I can’t appreciate the script, which is sometimes pretty good.
I agree. I’d much rather see traditional animation, even if it’s that flat, Hanna-Babera stuff Cartoon Network uses on Sealab 2021 and other shows than this computer stuff that’s the rage now. Even South Park’s animation looks better to me, though they use computers to draw it.
Budget, Eve. I know South Park went full computer animation about the time the movie came out. I suspect most shows are 2D computer animated now.
As far as why they went with 3D? Eh. Different look, looks more mature, means older people will watch when they wouldn’t watch a 2D? I don’t know.
Nah. It’s because Dreamworks is involved. They could bring in Donkey as a guest star (or even Shrek, if they wanted).
I find the look engrossing. I’m impressed they can put that together for as little money as they do.
I thought Hunter was wearing the collar because he’s a neurotic, nerdy kid. Every time something appears to rattle him, he starts scratching like he’s allergic to life or something. That’s what I get from it, anyway. Similar to what RealityChuck and CrazyCatLady said.
Slightly off-topic: Does anyone else find that the “Seigfried & Roy” theme song (is that Michael Jackson?) is stuck in their head? I want an entrance like that whenever I walk into a room.
