Faux painting and the marble like effect?

I’m planning on trying faux painting for a marble like effect for my walls. Any hints on this?

Go to the local home improvement store (I prefer Lowe’s) and there are usually free booklets on how to get different effects like that. If you don’t like the literature or help you get there, hit the nearest Sherwin Williams. They paint for a living, so they better know what they’re talking about.

  1. Practice on a piece of scrap wallboard or cardboard, because you won’t get it right the first time.

  2. Use feathers to create veins in the faux marble

  3. Stick to oil-based paints

  4. Find a piece of marble or a faux-marble tile to emulate.
