Who is your favorite underated actor/actress?
I’ve never been a great fan of Forrest Whitaker, but I always enjoy watching his movies. Sam Jackson used to be my fave underrated actor, but he’s not underated anymore.
If you want to have cities, you’ve got to build roads.
Michael Biehn.
The guy is a great actor, but hasn’t done anything really big (other than Terminator and Aliens, CMIW). I hope to see more of his work soon.

David Patrick Kelly. He’s been around for ages, and I’m finally starting to accept the fact that people are probably always going to say “Who?” when I tell them he’s my favorite. Sigh.
I guess I’m just better off living with my inner tensions.

Well, he isn’t underrated, but I’m STILL voting for him!! Cary Grant before he became a caricature of himself, pre-North by Northwest days. ‘Mr. Lucky’ is my absolute favorite movie, the way his dark eyes glittered, oooh my!!
“It’s hard to avoid reading because ever wheres we go, reading is there.”
I really like John Malkovich, but he seems to be more high profile lately so I guess he doesn’t count.
I think Kevin Spacey is a great actor (I’ve only known of him since Swimming with Sharks, didn’t remember him from Glengarry, Glen Ross), but he’s very high profile now.
I think Kevin Spacey is great. He comes off like he’s underrated, but I guess he isn’t, seeing how he won an Oscar in basically his first major movie role.

If we’re talking underrated, my vote goes for Stanley Tucci (even though he was in some kinda high profile movies), and I love Philip Seymour Hoffman. I am so pissed that he wasn’t nominated for an Oscar! He gave two great performances this past year.
My favorite actress is Joan Cusack. She always gets the supporting roles and she is great…I think she made “Runaway Bride” worth watching.
Plus, in the movie “Working Girl”, she said one of my all time favorite movie lines.
I hope I get this just right.
“I like to sing and dance around my house in my underwear…That doesn’t make me Madonna.”
I also love David Duchovny…except I haven’t liked any of his movie roles other than Mulder.

“Predictable, really I suppose. It was an act of purest optimism to have posed the question in the first place.” --John Cleese
My favorite actors are without a doubt Gary Sinise (sp?), Woody Harrelson, and Samuel L. Jackson. Even though she has made a few stinkers, I also like Demi Moore.
Oh, and I can’t forget Walter Matheau (sp? - Gosh I am bad with name spelling.)
You turn me on. But maybe it’s because I just spent 20 years in the jungle, getting it on with anything I could attract with a piece of fruit.
R. Lee Ermey in Full Metal Jacket, but not in Toy Story (unless maybe they could show Toy Story out-takes where he’d threaten to rip off Woody’s head and s*** down his windpipe, or offer to eat a mile of Little Bow Peep’s s*** just to see where it came from).Am I allowed to judiciously use that word on this message board?
I think Kevin Bacon is underrated. Also Bruce Willis. With the former, he’s in evry freakin’ movie, so you kind of take him for granted. With Bruce, he’s such an action hero that no one notices that he really is good at acting. I’m not saying he’s Laurence Olivier, but he’s very good. Oh, and Alec Baldwin.
This may not count, due to their current Oscar nominations, but I think people don’t notice Julianne Moore or Toni Collette as much as they should. I also like Reese Witherspoon.
There’s others that I THOUGHT were underrated for a long time, but then the Academy went and gave them little statues (Robin Williams, Helen Hunt, etc.)
I could go on all day like this…but I’ll spare you.
