Using good adjectives makes people sound cool. So what are some you like to use/hear?
I have always loved the adjective “rakish”, and try to find excuses to use it. Particularly with the word “youth”.
I’m not sure which adjectives I like to hear, though.
Fubsy. I know you can’t call people that to their faces, but it’s just such a delightful word to say.
Jiggy. I know it got a bit overused, but I like it.
Hey you did say cool, not intelligent.
tight, dope, ridiculous, crazy, clean…are the ones I use most often especially ridiculous and tight.
all of them mean good or nice, one example is; “That car is ridiculous.”
in other words “That’s a really nice car you have.”
I use uber alot. But my adjective of the moment is ghetto. Basically anything that is rigged to work, dirty, or just weird in general is ghetto to me and my friends.
What can I say, I like making other people hit the dictionaries to look up a word that means “easy”. I only use it as an adjective, never had any use for it as a noun.
funky
Pluperfect: as in “What in the pluperfect hell is going on here?”
Hey, I don’t know. I heard it somewhere.
Fabulous
Gargantuan
Foul
Gorgeous
Trite
Petty
Excessive
Sensual
Plethora—hmm, not an adjective is it? Or is it? Noun, I think.
These are my three favorite acronyms,
Ubiquitous,
Obligatory, and
Callipygian…
especially in situations where they all apply.
Then there’s also Fimicolous… which is an awesome insult adjective.
One of my favourite words of all time just happens to be an adjective:
Mellifluous. It just sounds so damn slinky and sexy.
Chefguy: plurperfect is a verb tense. It’s not an adjative.
Antediluvian.
Literally means before Noah’s flood. But it can mean anything old.
I love the “sleepy” adjectives:
somnolent
languid
soporific
languorous
torpid
drowsy
Makes me think of bees buzzing, soft winds, hammocks, and lemonade.
:smack:
Of course, I meant to type ‘adjective.’
(How does one :wally oneself?)
knavish
sensual
luscious
epicurean
earthy
lush
languid
ethereal
scandalous
devilish
pompous
sanguine - heh!
diaphanous
celestial
empyreal or empyrean
umbrous
winsome
beauteous
wistful
melancholic
I could go on and on… I love words
I like *egregious * and aleatory.
Spiffy is still keen.
So, a hip-hop video, right?
I like:
nightblue
multitudinous
sassy
phantasmagorical
slithery
coruscating
ultracrepidarian (discovered via the Straight Dope)
…and there’s got to be some adjectival form of the word velleity.
They’re all perfectly cromulent words too…
