I love the t-shirts from Eddie Bauer. The fabric is just so much nicer than a standard crummy Beefy-T. It is hard for me to pay $15 for a plain t-shirt though.
My favourite label would probably be Scandinavian (I think Swedish) Noah Noah. A bit more upmarket than H&M, which as like as well, but more for a quick shopping fix than to buy beloved long lasting items.
I like everything and anything at J Jill but the prices. Oh! The Horrors!
On a separate note - Does anyone know where the brand Ivy Crew Sport comes from? I bought a hooded sweatshirt at a consignment sale and it is the softest thing this side of cashmere I own. I want more and it does not show up on ebay very often.
I didn’t know anyone over the age of 15 shopped at Rave. Talk about tacky.
Express is my favorite brand as well. They have classic, sexy styles that are very reasonably priced. And their jeans are the only ones I’ve found that fit my curves properly. The Limited is another one I really like.
Yet another vote for Patagonia. I have a 16 year old Patagonia coat I wore as my main coat for about 10 years. It still sheds water and the cuffs are still tight.
Filson kicks ass and my next suitcase will likely be a Filson.
For work clothing I mainly wear Ralph Lauren Polo. I shop almost exclusively at Goodwill type stores and still find Polo for $2 a shirt.
For you outdoor types, I highly recommend "Ex-Officio’ river shorts. Well built, multi pockets and a dark-colored mesh inner liner. Now that’s planning.
Google for “bicé clothing” led me to this 2001 annual report. Searching w/in the document for “bicé” gave me “Last year Kellwood took action to reposition four brands (Ivy®, Melrose®, Bicé® and Sag Harbor® Sport). Collectively, these brands were down $71 in 2001.”
I googled for Kellwood and ended up at the Kellwood web site. Under the “Kellwood Brands” pull-down menu, I didn’t find “bicé.” So…'yer fecked.
Okay seriously, hopefully that’ll give you a starting point.
Polo by Ralph Lauren. I have Polo shirts (both “polo shirts” and regular short-and-long sleeved cotton shirts), Polo slacks, Polo underwear; as often as not, every piece of clothing touching my skin has that little polo player logo on it.
Sag Harbor’s professional line has me coveting and scrimping more often than I like to admit. The clothes are well made, and although some of their skirts are too distinctive to wear often, they make for a nice “professional-but-still-young” look.
Zsofia, I’ll agree on the bikini cuts, but the boyleg panties were designed somewhere in the depths of hell. Every other motion is ::yank panties out of ass crack::.
