favorite colors

Does anyone have a link to a study or survey where people told their favorite colors?
I am sure the highest ranked one is blue, but what were the other percentages?
thanks.

W/regard to cars, white was most common. It occupied the top spot for many years. My understanding is that silver now occupies the top spot.

Color is contextual. Your favorite color for a shirt wouldn’t necessarily be your favorite color for a car or a house.

Unless you have really passionate likes and dislikes for certain colors, in which case more is always better.

Or is that just me?

exactly. I love to wear pink, but in no way would I have a pink car, house, or even room in the house.

Hmm, well this kinda confirms that my “favorite” color orange is not a popular choice. Granted, I do agree I wouldn’t like certain possessions of mine colored orange.

This has almost nothing to do with favorite colors.

When buying a car, the color choice is never open unless you are willing to forego any “must buy from dealer stock” savings and order, and wait for , a car.

My car buying experience has always been choosing from 2 or 3 colors from local stock of cars with the features I want.

But how much is that linked to silver being more available? Many car models don’t even come in white; the only person in my family who’s ever picked a car that wasn’t already at the store (which means you’re not choosing from the whole possible catalog, but you’re also getting it faster) was my uncle when he bought his SAAB.

Tell that to the people diagonally behind me, who painted their house and garage day-glo pink. They liked the color in the little 2-inch swatch from the paint store, not realizing it’d look quite different on a house. Now they can’t afford to re-paint it, and we all have to suffer.

Haha! Some people are so dumb. If they had read anything about house painting, they would have known to stick with neutrals on their exterior. Geez.

BTW, I feel for you panache45.

Ah, see, you have to suffer with the pink, but they don’t see their own exterior color while inside their own home and are thus not suffering as much as you.
But you can go out and buy a paint color even more hideous - I would suggest something in the turquoise family - and start a house-paint war!

Note: house-paint wars not valid in neighborhoods with HOAs.

Unfortunately my house is brick . . . and no, I will never paint it.

What I want to see is a breakdown of “blue.”

How many like royal? cobalt? turquoise? periwinkle? sky? baby? electric? teal? indigo? ultramarine?

hellooo? hamsters just let me double-post. what’s changed???

Orange is my third-favorite color.

I like several shades of blue- turquoise/aqua and sky-blue are possibly my favorites. I also like shiny, opalescent, or metallic blues. Midnight blue and other dark shades depend- I do really like them if they’re shiny/shimmery. I very much dislike navy, and I don’t like washed-out greyish blues (or washed-out greyish anything, really), and washed out greyish dark blue is just gross. Medium blues like cobalt depend on my mood. When it comes to between-colors, I like purple-blue and blue-purple about the same. I like turquoise better than teal, though, and I hate dark teal.

Psh! No way! Too many houses are white/light grey/tan. Maybe a butter yellow or a powder blue if they get down n’ funky. When done right, colors on a house are amazingly awesome.
