All time:
Bloom County
Calvin and Hobbes
Currently running:
Mallard Fillmore
Dilbert
Zits
(Dilbert and Zits are documentaries of my work and home life)
I can’t believe no-one has mentioned Something Positive yet:
http://www.somethingpositive.net/sp12192001.html
Absolutely my favorite - I like Sluggy too, but Something Positive has a truly nasty edge to it that Sluggy lacks.
Plus, it reminds me very much of my friends and their strange relationships.
I still like Peanuts.
Charles Schultz, you are missed.
All time:
Krazy Kat
Pogo
Barnaby
Doonesbury
The Far Side
Calvin and Hobbes
Currently:
Pibgorn
Get Fuzzy
Crankshaft
Rose is Rose
Doonesbury
Dilbert
Fox Trot
Pogo, Farside, Outtakes, Calvin and Hobbes, The Pirhana Club, Shoe, Bent Offerings, Baby Blues
All time favorite: Bloom County
Current : Prince Valiant. Don’t laugh, the story lines are brilliant, the artwork is first rate, and the occasional splash of humor is like an Easter egg.
Cathy is the pits. She can’t draw worth a crap (NEVER a profile view) and the story lines are pretty monotonous.
All time:
Calvin and Hobbes
Bloom County
Robotman (Monty is NOT the same)
Current:
Ballard St.
Get Fuzzy
Frazz
Bob the Angry Flower!

Beg to differ - I can confirm one drawing of Cathy in profile. She was kissing Irving goodnight on her front step and then realized her hair was mussed and she had spinach in her teeth, with all the attendant angst (and the obligatory “BLEAH!”) ensuing.
All it really did, though, was reinforce the argument that Cathy Guisewhite can’t draw for shit.
In roughly chronological order:
Krazy Kat (a bit of a cheat, since it’s before my time and I only know it from books)
Peanuts
Pogo (that Mamselle Hepzibah…woo woo!)
Doonesbury
Bloom County/Outland
Calvin & Hobbes
Get Fuzzy
And kudos to Hometownboy for the Odd Bodkins mention!
The Boondocks.
Sluggy, Megatokyo, Penny Arcade.
All time:
Current
[no particular order] Zits, Doonesbury, Baby Blues, For Better/For Worse
GAAA!
And somehow I left Foxtrot off that ‘current’ list. I suspect Quincy the iguana will get me, now…
Dilbert
Sherman’s Lagoon
Baby Blues
Herman (I have laughed so hard on occasion that I squirted milk from my nose, and boy it hurt)
Absolutely loved Calvin & Hobbes and Bloom County, and was very sad to see them end.
The only comic I’ve ever really read on a regular basis is Boy Meets Boy. Sweet, funny, and sexy. Me likes.
PS: My thanks to matt_mcl (I believe) for posting the link in another comic thread some time ago. I’d never have found it without you!
You are correct- my use of the word NEVER was incorrect- although profiles are very rare indeed in Cathy. Your assessment of Cathy Guisewite’s artistic ability seems quite accurate.
One more comic bash- would someone please pull the plug on Nancy? Every Sunday I glance at it just long enough to wonder why on earth they keep it alive long after brain death has occurred.
Foxtrot. Zits. Far Side. Calvin and Hobbes.
Weebl & Bob, if these guys count.

Something Positive’s my second favorite webcomic. Main reason it loses to Sinfest is Milholland’s maddening tendency to leave the last period/question mark/exclamation mark in the speech bubble off. It leaves the insults look unfinished.
However, I’ve for some time believed that Something Positive would be the webcomic most adaptable to be a TV series.
It’s not loathing, but Penny Arcade is something which has popularity that I’ve never been able to comprehend. Same goes for Weebl & Bob.
