Favorite DVD

If you had to trash or give away all but one of your DVD’s, which one would you keep.

I’ll allow a box set. That way I’d get to keep my own favorite 5-disc The Godfather Collection.

You?

The LAWRENCE OF ARABIA DVD is packed full of some real goodies in addition to the movie, as are FIDDLER ON THE ROOF, 1776, and MOULIN ROUGE. I’d probably go with LAWRENCE though (unless we could keep porn, of course).

Super Troopers

Tombstone-Vista Series

Tough call… if I had to pick one, I guess it’d be the Fellowship of the Ring Extended Edition DVD. I’m not sure what I’ll do when the Two Towers EE comes out…

You can have my DVDs when you prise them from…

Oh… a “theroretical question”…

OK, you can have my Babylon 5 discs when…

Oh… just one disc or box?!

Alright then… Highlander. Don’t ask me why, but I find this movie weirdly comforting, and something I’ll watch (where other people might eat comfort food). Some time ago, while suffering food poisoning and really not enjoying my self at 4am it was my first choice for comfort viewing.

The version I have (10th anniversary Ed) might be short on extras, but the commentary track is well worth the price anyway. Really worth sitting through – one favorite bit, the filmakers engaging Christopher Lambert on a play-or-pay contract based on his performance in Greystoke and then finding that he couldn’t speak english.

Saving Private Ryan.

Beauty and the Beast Special Edition–it’s worth it for the behind the scenes stuff and ‘work in progress’ early version of the movie alone.

The Big Lebowski, dude.
