AHHH! MANNA FROM HEAVEN!
awsome combo my friend. Just AWSOME!
AHHH! MANNA FROM HEAVEN!
awsome combo my friend. Just AWSOME!
I just remembered another one. I really like that debbil Doublezoute salted licorice. I was so happy to be able to find it at one store in all of Florida that I bought a bunch of rolls. I gave a piece to my wife, who had to spit it out. She said it tastes like salty rubber tires. Admittedly, it is and acquired taste…
Kellogg’s Corn Pop Cereal (The junkfood kind in the yellow box with the cowboy on it), in a bowl, with milk poured in. Then add a big handful of Lay’s BBQ chips slightly crunched up, on top. It was a camping accident, and it’s wonderful.
My Husband To Be likes Coke and Milk together, which completely skeeves me.
Those who know me consider me a very picky eater, but there are some weird things I like…
I totally agree to the fried-peanut-butter and banana sandwiches… yum. I mix in mayo (and/or milk) with the eggs when making an omlet, also quite good. I’ll have to try it with orange juice like someone mentioned. I have been known to sprinkle Nesquik on my Cheerios.
My family also thinks I’m nuts for eating bbq chicken and chicken alfredo pizzas. It’s not that weird, I know, but my family thinks it is. My step-brother doesn’t understand my habit of eating dry cereal.
My step-dad puts ketchup on pizza. My brother will microwave a bowl of shredded cheese and milk and eat it with a spoon.
Like this? The best peppermints ever.
If we’re talking non-western foods:
Tamarind candy. The asian kind (which is tamarind pulp mixed with a small amount of sugar and rolled in salt crystals to form a crust) and the hispanic kind (tamarind pulp mixed with hot chilies.)
Green mangoes and Bagoong/kosher salt. Peel and slice an unripe mango. Dip generously in bagoong (thick, bright pink dried salted shrimp paste) or big salt crystals. Yummm.
Duck egg salad. Get a hard boiled duck egg (those preserved, fuschia ones at the asian mart) and chop up with tomato and onion. Stir with salt and white vinegar and watch the room clear as you eat.
Dammit, now I’m hungry.
Also shit hot if you add sliced cucumber or carrot.
I love this! One of the things I will miss miss about my old flatmate is her neverending supply of Dutch licorice. I’m going to have to go hunting for it someday soon…
I’ve created this myself, and I think it’s quite yummy, although in moderation only.
1 Bowl
Some Cottage Cheese
1 Can Vienna Sausages, sliced
1-2 tbsp. Tabasco Sauce
Mix together in said bowl and enjoy!
More lovely Dutch food.
Cheese and apple syrup. Yum yum. This is south of Holland only.
On an sandwich, naturally.
Probably not really gross or anything, but my friends find it really weird that I put Jelly on my shredded hash browns in restaurants. However if they do the same thing at McDonalds, with a Hash Brown patty, it’s ok.
Velveeta cheese and Miracle Whip on white bread. Yum.
OK, first we had people who considered bacon with maple syrup or jam weird (what, syrup has never spilled off a pancake or waffle and gotten on someone’s bacon?)
Now we have people who think fried/toasted peanut butter and banana sandwiches are weird.
OK, peanut butter and banana sandwiches are not weird. They’re… breakfast.
Frying and toasting sandwiches is not weird.
So, how is frying or toasting a peanut butter and banana sandwich weird?
Seriously? The little cafes around here all serve you a dill pickle with your grilled cheese sandwich and french fries. It’s the only time I eat pickles, actually…
My odd favorite:
cheese flavored [insert cracker or corn chip] and chocolate.
Cheese crackers (the lighter round ones like Better Chedders, not Cheese-its) can be eaten with M&Ms or Hershy Kisses, while Doritios are best with chocolate covered thin mints, though Krispy M&Ms will serve.
I have met one other person who likes this combo, and we horrified all our coworkers the day we sang its praises
Minced baby clam and salmon cream cheese spread sandwhiches on sourdough bread.
Take Sour Cream & Onion Pringles, Slather with chocolate icing (whipped is best) then cover with honey roasted peanuts.
This is the best munchie food combo I have ever found!!

Spam casserole - thin slices of Spam layered with cooked sliced potatoes, cooked macaroni, and cheddar cheese. Trust me on this one.

Have you tried SPAM Hot & Spicy with Tabasco sauce built in to the SPAM? I like it on toast with sliced tomato, mashed potato and grated cheese.
My SIL the corn freak could win this thread hands down. She will eat corn in anything. She makes vanilla ice cream with brown sugar and creamed corn.
One of my favorite recipes of hers is scrambled eggs with corn and pineapple. Not only is it better than it sounds, it’s a very pretty shade of yellow.
I love to melt butter and add grated Parmesan cheese and cook till it’s dark brown.
I’m shocked - So far we have the following horrors:
Ketchup and Marmite (this is just wrong)
Chocolate and bacon milkshake
Egg and orange juice
Toast and Coke
::retches::
Mine look really tame.
Cinzano Bianco and milk (fridge accident) haven’t drunk this for years, it’s probably gross.
Marmite and lettuce sandwich. I don’t know if this is a normal practice or not but mum used to make them, if you grow up with something it becomes normal.
