Favorite Harry Potter character?

WHACK!!

“one more time, master harry? for good luck?”

Siruis Black all the way.

Cool confidence paired with a good heart.

Also a total badass.

Lupin got my vote. Gentle soul with a heartbreakingly sad life story, then he gets a little happiness with Tonks, and then heartbreakingly (but heroically) loses it all in Deathly Hallows’ big battle. Then gets a poignant moment via the Resurrection stone.

If I had multiple voting, I would have also chosen Snape, Luna, and Dumbledore, for pretty much the exact reasons others have already posted.

I think some people might answer differently depending on whether it’s in reference to the books or movies.

I picked Ginny. I think she was underdeveloped, especially considering she was the main love interest, but despite that, there are subtle hints at much greater depth of character. And though not given a great deal of material, she is superbly played in the movies.

I like Luna a lot too, but I think she was better represented in the books.

my vote went to snape, but a lot of that was swayed by alan rickman’s portrayal of him. mm, alan rickman.

it’s a hard choice, because i love the all the characters so much. outside the main trio. honorable mentions go to lupin, sirius, luna, gred and forge, professor mcgonagall, neville, mad-eye. and hedwig.

i voted for luna. her calm demeanor in the face of danger won me over. snape a close second, i knew he wasn’t a bad guy…

I liked Hermione - a great role model for all us females.

Harry! I like the twins, too. Luna. Dumbledore. But my very favorite is that brooding black crow, Snape. The mystery, the demeanor, the VOICE! Honestagod, Alan Rickman’s Snape sends a delicious chill down my spine.

Is it true JKR was writing the final book(s) and actually consulted with Alan Rickman as to how Snape’s character was going to play out? I get such a kick out of that, I think that is so cool (a word I despise, but that’s what it is.)

I wish I could have voted for more than one, but I had to go with Neville.

My favorite moment in the final book was when he pulled the Gryffindor sword out of the Sorting Hat.

But I love Lupin too.

she isn’t mentioned…but trelawney for all her oddity was rather spot on with her “seeing”, many thought her daft, but she did have things correct much of the time.

watching poa on abc family right now. her first scene with the “grim” cup. there was a big shaggy dog shadowing potter, and by the end of the book/movie he had suffered (finding out his parents had been betrayed by a friend) but was happy about it (finding out it wasn’t sirius, and that he had a godfather).

Hedwig

Luna and Snape neck and neck for the lead! Not surprising at all.

Glad Ron’s got at least one vote, and not sure why I care. It’s not like he’s going to come here and get his feelings hurt!

I want to hear from the people who voted for Dursleys. Care to expand on why?

My heart belongs to Moaning Myrtle.

I picked other, I do not have a single one, almost all of them have at least one scene that I like for one reason or the other.

If I had to be pinned down to which house I would live in it would probably be Ravenclaw, I like McGonnagall as a teacher, I like Hagrid’s love of all animals and creepy crawlies.

…is my answer, too. Remus’s story went straight to my heart and shattered it. I still get nauseous thinking about his death.

Ron has always been my favorite, even when he’s throwing a fit about being ignored.

He’s the first real friend Harry ever had and he was a good one.

My vote. And he as the only real family Harry had.

I voted for Bellatrix, but that’s my choice based on the movies. I love the way Helena Bonham Carter portrays her. If I had to choose just from the books, I’d probably go for Snape. He’s the character you love to hate, but in the end I cried the hardest for him.

Choosing one was really hard for me. I might offend the others.
I went with Dumbledore. he had some great quotes

I voted for McGonagell, but I would have voted for Luna too. She was a nice contrast to Hermoine–who I found exasperating at times. I think I’d be like Luna if I was in the wizarding world.

I also liked Tonks. In my mind, she’s like Cyndi Lauper. Don’t know if she appeared in the movies and don’t really want to know.

On the men’s side, I have to say I liked both Sirius and Lupin. And I liked the fake Mad-Eye better the real one.
