Favorite/Least Favorite Christmas Songs

Ooh, Ceremony of Carols rocks the house! “Adam Lay Ibounden” is so much fun to sing…and so is “This Little Babe.”

(I’ve also sung in a piece called Salvator Mundi, by William Mathias…it resembles Ceremony somewhat but isn’t as good. ;))

Also, we’re singing “Lo, How A Rose E’er Blooming” at Mass this Sunday (beginning of Advent), mostly because I was pretty adamant about doing it…

“This Little Babe” is my favorite - I never realized that a harp could jam! Stunning stuff. Thanks for the other recommendation, I’ll look it up.

Favorites:
The absolute best is Sleigh Ride, the old-fashioned instrumental symphonic version.
I second Nat King Cole’s Christmas Song and the Charlie
Brown album.

Least favorites:
Feliz Navidad makes the baby Jesus weep.
Oh-and Kilt-Wearin’ Man, I am SO with you on Manheim Stemroller’s Deck the Halls. I mean, all their music is
icky synthesized elevator CRAP, but this one seems to be the most overplayed. It makes me break out in hives.

Thanks for the info, Eonwe. I’ll look for the song.

I have one more addition to my list of OK holiday songs. Obviously, it’s “A Lonely Jew” as sung by Kyle from South Park.
