Favorite memes of old

I’m still partial to “Badger Badger Badger” and the music video version of “All your base”… what memes from long ago still make you smile?

Where’s the beef?

This came out when I was about 2 years old and my parents used to take me to Wendy’s and hold me up so I could say to the people behind the counter, “Where’s da peef?” I think my favorite outdated meme is the Tootsie Pop “How many licks does it take…” campaign.

Hi, Opal!

:smack:

I should have seen that one coming :stuck_out_tongue:

Another board I’m a member of recently had a “How To” forum created, and my first post in that forum was “how do I shot web?”

This remix of the star wars kid still makes me giggle

Kilroy was here.

Back in the early to mid 2000s, alt.religion.kibology was cranking out memes like Mississippi kudzu. SO MUCH ( fill in the blank ) IT IS ALL OVER YOU SCREEN! (sic) was one I remember; it originated in some spam post for a sex site. Kibologists also had a habit of telling folks to “go eat a steaming bowl of fukk” (again, sic).

Among the frequent rhetorical devices were the Obvious Bag, which posters were said to reach into for less-than-original observations, and New and Improved Kontext-Away™, which made stray bits of writing funny to the accompaniment of comic-book narration balloon language - (“Kontext-Away™ galvanizes into action! ZAP!!”).

And it was the third reply.

Come to me, son of Jor-El! Kneel before Zod!

Still a big fan of the Numa Numa guy.

At work, I might taste some baking and say “More cowbell.”

Sometimes if I phone a supervisor or the Regional Hospital about something and then someonw asks what the message was I go “wah-wanaah-hwaaa waa” like adults in Peanut cartoon specials.

Yes I am generally considered “weird”.

I’m lovin’ this convo you guys are having.

I fondly recall Spiderman will make you GAY!

Now that I’ve found someone at work to share them with, I’m sort of giving all the memes that are (probably) no longer funny a rattle.

Right now we’re working on Yakov Smirnoff. Did you know that in Soviet Russia, filter spams you!

Napster bad!
