This is a great thread.

I love mottoes, slogans, and brief statements of wit and wisdom, and for many years I’ve kept an ever-growing list of the ones I particularly like. Here are some of my favorites. I feel rather self-conscious posting such a long list, and hope I’m not making a complete fool of myself.
