Took me a while to figure out that Mo Cheeks was in the backcourt with Iverson.

Was Cheeks really that good, or was there a dearth of other candidates?

5th all-time in steals and 11th in assists. Hal Greer’s in the Hall and he isn’t, though.

All this. Cheeks was great. A lot of it was the unspectacular greatness of “being consistently very good for a long time,” but that shouldn’t be a strike against him.

Houston could start at the 2, if you think he spent enough time with the team. In that case, I would move -none- to the 3. Centers -none- and -none- would start for many a team’s all-time roster.

It’s pretty interesting – it’s possible that both -none- and -none- would miss out on the starting lineup for all the teams each played for, despite each being a top 10 center all-time. -none- was behind Houston, obviously, in Houston’s lineup, and then you’ve got Kansas in Philly and Georgetown in Atlanta, and he only played a little bit here and there for other teams.

And then obviously -none- doesn’t make it in Houston and almost certainly will never get to that level, and he’d be behind LSU (at the very least) for both of his other teams.

I thought he was referring to -none- (who of course never played for any other NBA team), not -none- (who’s only been in Houston one season). -none- was definitely a good player, though he never lived up to the international billing.

OK, now I’m confused. I thought he was referring to -none-, who played for, I’m pretty sure, just about every NBA team, rather than -none- (who’s only been in Houston one season) OR -none-, who was definitely a good player though he never etc, etc.

ETA: Boy, if you were looking to put together a lineup of all 7-footers, Houston definitely has the edge over every other franchise. -none-, -none-, -none-, Houston, and, for a few memorable years there, Virginia. Damn.

EATA: This is definitely the silliest and most entertaining NBA thread on this board in a while.
