phil, further back in the thread you quoted the 23rd Psalm. What translation was that?
The OP stated “off the top of your head.” So perhaps the 23rd Psalm was a mixture of NIVT, NIV, and (sorry about this) my experience as a Sunday School teacher. There’s also a translation called (if memory serves) NIRVT, which was geared toward a child with a third-grade reading level.
Might I ask, Baker, is there a problem?

Oh, no problem at all! I just thought it was interesting. I have a number of different translations and that one didn’t ring a bell. I like the substitution of “love” for “mercy”.
One of my favorites of the 23rd Psalm is the Jewish Publication Society translation.
(I’m not doing this one from memory)
