Ominous Quotes

Hey everyone…just looking to start a thread about ominous or evil sounding quotes. There was a thread like this one a while ago, but I’m unable to find it. There was one quote in particular that I’m looking for, which just happened to be in the previously mentioned thread and I’m hoping that by starting this up again, that quote will come out.

Thanks!!!

Was it this one?

Other than that, I got nothin’.

Here’s two from one of my favorite books.

Probably not what you’re looking for, but the first on ethat popped into my mind when I opened the thread:

“You’ll all trying to kill me.”
John Spencer as Leo McGarry in The West Wing a couple of weeks ago.

Not to hold up the OP’s search, but I can think of no more ominous quote than this one :

“Das war ein Vorspiel nur, dort wo man Bücher verbrennt,
verbrennt man auch am Ende Menschen.”

-from Almansor by Heinrich Heine

(“That was just a prelude, wherever they burn books,
they will end up burning people.”)

Speaking of which, you’d think NBC would have updated his bio by now. :frowning:

“We knew the world would not be the same. A few people laughed, a few people cried, most people were silent. I remembered the line from the Hindu scripture, the Bhagavad-Gita. Vishnu is trying to persuade the Prince that he should do his duty and to impress him takes on his multi-armed form and says, “Now, I am become Death, the destroyer of worlds.” I suppose we all thought that one way or another.” - J. Robert Oppenheimer

“Today’s pig is tomorrow’s bacon.” -Hunter S. Thompson

“Pathetic Earthlings! Hurling your bodies out into the void without the slighest inkling of who or what is out here. If you knew anything about the true nature of the universe, anything at all, you would have hidden from it in terror.”~~Ming The Merciless

Childhood ends when you find out there are no monsters in your closet…and that they are really walking the streets. ~~Mike Hutchison

“At this time, ABC News is predicting the winner of the 2004 Presidential election to be…”

Here’s my away message:

Every normal man must be tempted at times to spit on his hands, hoist the black flag, and begin slitting throats. ~H.L. Mencken

“Soon I will be dead. And then I will have to go to God, and explain to him all those men I killed at Alamein” - Viscount Montgomery, 1976.

“Urge to kill …rising” -Homer Simpson

“When the world is mine, your death shall be quick and painless!”

– Stewie Griffin
You wouldn’t believe how many situations there are where you can fit that in!

“I find your lack of faith disturbing.”

The Borg : “Resistance is futile”.

From Terminator : “Listen. And understand. That Terminator is out there. It can’t be bargained with. It can’t be reasoned with. It doesn’t feel pity, or remorse, or fear. And it absolutely will not stop, ever, until you are dead.”

“…the Illuminati will have the American people under tighter surveillance than Hitler had the Germans. And the beauty of it is, the majority of the Americans will have been so frightened by Illuminati-backed terrorist incidents that they will beg to be controlled as a masochist begs for the whip.”

– Robert Anton Wilson and Robert Shea, in their over-the-top farcical fantasy, Illuminatus! (1975)

“As Gregor Samsa awoke one morning from uneasy dreams…”

“Now they will know why they are afraid of the dark. Now they learn why they fear the night.” - Thulsa Doom, Conan the Barbarian

“When I started out I was just a peddler moving across the blind face of a distant land. Moving, always moving. Always gone… and in the end I’d always offer weapons. And they’d always take them. Of course I was gone before they realized what they’d purchased.” - Leland Gaunt, Needful Things

Jill: What’s he waiting for out there? What’s he doing?
Cheyenne: He’s whittlin’ on a piece of wood. I’ve got a feeling when he stops whittlin’… Somethin’s gonna happen.

  • Once Upon a Time in the West

But I also knew in that same moment that all she had done to me today had been done in a sleep that had lasted long and longer, so long that the others sometimes thought she was dead, hoped she was dead, feared she was dead, prayed she was dead, if they had the courage of prayer left in them. Who did the soulless dead pray to ?
A sigh moved through that close, airless room, and on that first breath of air, came a whisper of sound, the first sound that that room had heard in centuries, “Me.”
It took me a moment to realize that it was the answer to my question. Who did the soulless dead pray to ? Me, the whisper said.
