Favorite remote desktop software?

I need some remote desktop software (so I can access a PC from another PC and see the remote PC screen on my computer) and was wondering if anyone here had any opinions on what was good. Mostly I care about performance and features although cost matters a bit.

We use LogMeIn which my husband, an IT professional, vetted. It works well for me, though I’m far from an expert in these matters. According to their website, you can try it for free.

Another LogMeIn user. I use it regularly, even across the Atlantic.

Team Viewer is my favorite.

Free for non-business use and the corporate pricing isn’t too terrible either.

I’ll second that. I recently downloaded the free version and it works exceptionally well. I particularly like it for transferring new or modified files from desktop to laptop on my home network.

www.crossloop.com is great, free, and easy to use. I discovered it this weekend when I needed something to help my MIL install wireless security cameras in her home.

I still just use UltraVNC, but I’m doing it on my house network, so it’s easy.

Another recommendation for Team Viewer. You don’t need to know the remote machine’s IP address to connect, just a unique ID number generated by the program and a password. And you don’t even have to install Team Viewer on the remote PC (although you can), it’s possible to connect just running the executable.

Another vote for LogMeIn. We have been using it for more than two years now without any issues.

I prefer not to add extra software to my computer to perform a job that can be done by something already built in, so I use RDP.

But you can only do that with Pro and Ultimate versions of Windows. I’ve heard good things about LogMeIn.

At work we use GotoMyPC

I use RDP too. It’s easiest to explain to others.
