Favorite short-lived TV shows

I have to agree. I thought Sports Night was great. Jeremy Piven is brillant in just about anything, I was sad to see Cupid go.
I think they were both on ABC right? Relativity is another ABC show that I don’t think got a fair shot.

I thought I was the only one in the world who loved that show. I laughed out loud at almost every episode.

Unfortunately, they canceled it. I don’t think it even lasted an entire season. Yet they kept bringing back that Tea Leoni sitcom back from the dead over and over. Go figure.

Sheri

I loved that show. Probably because I’m a combination of Angela and Rayanne.

Here, here. I agree, on both points.

I have (I think) all of these on tape from their initial airing.

I loved this one too. I also thought The Beverly Hillbillies was pretty funny, which I suppose indicates that I have a wide range of comedic appreciation.

This whole thread has been fascinating. My question to all of you who liked older shows: how many of you wish that video recorders had been around back then, so you’d have copies to re-watch now?

The Irish/Channel 4 programme “Father Ted”. It was just SO inconsiderate for the principal actor - Dermot Morgan - to die. Grrr!

It was a wonderful comedy programme.

Lush Life.

“I put 'em on when I get there!”

Anamaniacs was never more than a shallow echo of the genuinely clever Tiny Toons. Most of it’s skits were funny the first time, but were just too stupid to work over and over. ‘He’s really a chicken!’ THAT’S your big punchline? It lasted five years, though, so I’m not sure it qualifies as ‘short lived.’

Freakazoid was awesome, though.

Max Headroom.

Duckman (How long did that last?)

Big O (You never specified it had to be an AMERICAN show) Sunrise seems to be having a run of bad luck. How could anyone in their right mind think of canceling Cowboy Bebop?

A year ago I would have said ReBoot, but they managed to scrape a fourth season together. Now if there was only some way to SEE it, south of Canada . . . Pilot Candidate and Baby Blues somehow got picked over this, Cartoon Network?

I saw a bit of Cyber-Six. It seemed ok, but I’d had way too much buildup to accept just ok. It couldn’t seem to make up its mind weather it wanted to be serious or not. You can do both at once, but usually not when your villains are that cartoony . . .

Yet another show that demonstrates this fundamental truth: With massive amounts of gentic manipulation, someday we can make a woman who’s almost as good as a man.

Yet another reason why Fox sucks-

The deaths of “Space: Above and Beyond” and “The Lone Gunmen”. Chris Carter worked many of the Space alumni into the X-files. The Lone Gunmen made some post–cancelation appearances on X-files- including last night. . . . .
