Favorite US Presidents elected during your lifetime

So . . . many . . . comeback . . . lines . . .

Brain . . . imploding . . .

  1. Reagan
  2. GW Bush
  3. GHW Bush

Hon mention to Clinton for the entertainment.

Harry Truman
Jimmy Carter

The only honorable men to hold the office in my lifetime.

Clinton
Carter

That’s it. I’m 31.

Favorite:

  1. Carter (birth to age 4)
  2. Clinton (16 - 23)

Most hated:

  1. Dubya (23 - present)
  2. Reagan (4 - 12)
  3. George I (12 - 16)

Basically for the majority of my life, I’ve disliked our Commander in Chief.

Clinton (The perfect president, except for the philandering; still I’d vote for him as president-for-life)
Bush I (Bit the bullet and laid the economic foundation for Clinton; Clinton owes Bush I alot of credit)
Bush II (I disagree with most of his policies, but he does keep things exciting and funny)
Carter (I was too young to understand his policies; but he gets credit for what he’s done after his term)
Reagan (First term: charismatic swindler; Second term: Nancy’s bitch)

I’m 31 too (my username contains my bday), but we have had more than 2 Presidents in our lifetimes.
In my preferential order:

  1. Clinton
  2. Carter
  3. Reagan
  4. Nixon (I was one when he resigned)
  5. Ford (I know, not elected)
  6. Daddy Bush
  7. Baby Bush (or, the Shrub)

For the record, I have voted in 4 Presidential Elections. I voted for Clinton (twice), Gore, and Kerry.

Reagan
G W Bush

Clinton.

(I was born during Reagan’s second term, and I’ve only had any clue about politics during the last couple years of Clinton and then Bush II, so…)

I was born during the Johnson administration, but I have a much younger sister born in early Reagan. When she was about 5, we were talking about presidents and I told her that when she was 7, we would get a new president and Reagan wouldn’t be president anymore. She wailed, “But I don’t want a new president! I want to keep *this * president!”

Every once in awhile I bring up that story just to tease her. We both despise W and would gladly take Clinton or Carter over the rest.

Lyndon, not Andrew. My sister’s not *that * much younger.

Kennedy and Eisenhower.

I would add Harry Truman ahead of either of them, but I was, unfortunately, six hours too late to count him as being elected during my lifetime.

  1. Carter

Short list. Ford might have made it on if he’d been elected and / or I’d been born at the time he took office, and I was tempted to add Al Gore, but I have a feeling I’d be less than enthusiastic about him by now if he’d actually taken office.

  1. Reagan

I didn’t care too much for his ideals, and being in England at the time wasn’t effected by his domestic policies. But he seemed very much a necessary man of his times. He seemed to be able to be as scary to the Russians, as the ancient Russian leaders of the time were scary to us. I feel his existance on the international political schene was pivital in ending the cold war. His term in office seemed to be the time Russia finally lost it’s economic side of the arms race, and lead to the election of far more moderate and progressive leaders within Russia.

  1. Clinton

He seemd to be bringing USA into the world community, as a leader, but a leader of partners.

  1. Bush Senior

The First Gulf war and liberation of Kuwait seemed a necessary and highly succesful endevour. He otherwise seemed mostly harmless as a world leader.

  1. Carter

He seemed completele harmless and almost invisible. Better known for Peanuts than for policies. Mind you I was very young when he was president, so was not following much politics at the time.

  1. Bush Junior

If it was just the Afghan war he would rank above his father, and maybe even Clinton. But the apparant dissdain he holds for other countries views, and the influence of religious extremist views on his policies makes him a poor president. The second Gulf war shows many signs of missmanagement that though not directly caused by Bush junior are his responsibility and do not seem to have been adequately delt with.

There’ve only been four presidents in my lifetime.

I liked Clinton and H-Bush. I don’t like W-Bush and Reagan.

Sums me up as well.

Yes, I realize that there have been more than two Presidents in my 34 years, but the OP asked to list favorites, not rank them. When someone asks your favorite ice cream flavor, you name one or two, not every single flavor in descending order. If you don’t particularly care for Heath toffee crunch, or simply can take it or leave it, you don’t list it.

Carter
Clinton
G H W Bush

(descent deep into Hell…)

Nixon
G W Bush

(down, down, down, near Hitler…)

Reagan

  1. Reagan
  2. GW Bush
  3. G HW Bush
  4. Eisenhower
  5. Carter
  6. LBJ
  7. JFK
  8. Nixon
  9. Clinton

Clinton and Carter in no particular order.

I tell my husband I’m still reporting to Clinton.

Hee hee hee, **Eve, ** I just noticed your reply to Ms. Carmichael. Oh, and GREAT, now I’ll be pretending to be Mr. Mooney in my head everytime I see one of her posts! Or is it the brother-in-law Harry.

Well, at any rate, I really like Clinton and Carter and I would totally give Clinton oral. I mean, what a statesmen that guy is!

  1. Kennedy

  2. Clinton

  3. Carter - greatest ex President

  4. Johnson

  5. Ford – OK, we know he wasn’t elected, but he was the POTUS

  6. Eisenhower

  7. GHW Bush

  8. Reagan

  9. GW Bush

  10. Nixon
