Favorite way to make corn on the cob - need answer fast

Have at it!

I like it on the grill, in the husk after being soaked for a few hours (or overnight), but barring that, microwaving it, in the husk, IMO, is way better than boiling it. It really turns out well and it’s much easier to peel it that way and get all the silk off than trying to husk it raw.

Smeared with butter, sprinkled with instant onion soup powder and grilled directly over charcoal. More butter brushed on as it cooks.

Boiled, but not for long.

The SO likes to put sugar in the water.

Take off husk. Smoosh some pats of butter on it and sprinkle on some seasoning salt. Wrap that in foil and throw on the grill.

This. Big pot of boiling water with a couple tablespoons of sugar. Drop the corn in with tongs and boil for NO MORE THAN 3 minutes. Yummy!

Steamed. Use a small amount of vigorously boiling water and add some salt, butter, and cheap smelly corn oil.

On the grill, peeled, lick of butter, squeeze of lime, s&p. No husk, no foil.

How long do you nuke it for?

Boiled. Sugar in the water only if needed (hopefully not!).

Corn is usually sweet enough for me without added sugar. Especially if I pull off the freeway and buy it from the farmers. But there have been one or two occasions where it didn’t hurt.

I’ve grilled it in the husk and out. If you do it without a husk, the corn caramelizes into smoky little nuggets of deliciousness. I generally just use a bit of salt and oil on it, smeared on with my hands, and then throw it on the grill, turning it every few minutes to get the caramel all over. It’s fantastic this way.

Except for the salt, this. I usually get it to start to carmelize. Mmmmm!

Two minutes; maybe a minute more each for more than two ears. I trim the top, break off the stalk end, and peel off the outer few husks.

Usually grilled right on the stove. Spread salt and pepper on a plate. Use half a lemon to pick up the salt and pepper and rub all over the corn.

Ahhh, 'tis (approaching) the season for fresh sweetcorn. Boiled, no longer than 3 days after it has been picked. Maybe salt, maybe butter, but those are not necessary.

I’ve heard 3.5 to 4 minutes. To be honest I’ve never tried it in the microwave. When I was married my ex took care of boiling the corn while I was in charge of the flaming carnivore pit.

I haven’t had corn on the cob these last two years. I might try nuking some this summer.

I saw a video (perhaps on Facebook?) where the corn was nuked, and then using a kitchen knife the thick end was chopped off about a half inch down and the entire cob just slid out of the remaining husk. No peeling required.

Walk out in the garden about 30 minutes before lunch, gather 2 ears of corn for each person + 3 more. Husk and silk and drop in the boiling salted water… pull out, butter, salt, eat…

I like a two step process. Rubbed with a flavored butter and wrapped in foil on the grill for 2 minutes a side (4 sides), then unwrapped and back on the grill until browned on all sides. Its juicier than unwrapped corn and chars much better.

husk it. insert into boiling water, cover cook about 8 mins Enjoy. with butter

Grilled corn is tough. hard to chew. Don’t grill corn imho
