Huh. I would have guessed anything but the popularity of Small Gods. I always thought Pterry had completely forgotten the Funny in this one in favour of the Preachy. I think it’s the only DW book I haven’t read twice (or more).
Eek! I didn’t realize this was a zombie thread.
That’s ok. Reg Shoe will forgive you.
Has anyone seen my ear? Blasted thing fell off again.
I was lukewarm about Small Gods after the first read. Second time through really connected. I can’t say why that happened, but it’s now my favorite.
Hard to choose just one, but I’m pleased to see that* Reaper Man *reaches double digits in popularity.
I’d be interested to hear how many of the selections those voting have read before passing judgement.
On a side note, the Hogfather movie was a incredibly well done.
All of them, multiple times.
When this poll was first alive, I hadn’t read enough to give an informed judgment. I’ve now read all but the last two or three, though, so I’ve voted now.
Ditto.
Upon re-reading both books since this thread was first posted, I’m changing my vote from Interesting Times to Guards! Guards!
Please take note all. Poll is no longer currently operativley correct or substantially reliable.
I voted for The Last Hero.
Who doesn’t want to storm the gates of Heaven with a barrel of Agatean Fire Clay?
:p:D
All.
Wow! Sounds like I’m not the only one who became addicted to the Disc. I can understand the votes for Nightwatch and Small Gods, both standouts in the series. Hogfather just hits 10%, and it could have be my second choice.
So that’s two of us.
As I mentioned when I originally voted, I’d only read as far as Interesting Times + Going Postal when I voted for Reaper Man with Small Gods a close second. Since then I’ve read the rest of the series, minus Unseen Academicals (which I just purchased last week but haven’t started yet); I also haven’t yet read any of the Tiffany Aching books.
So with most of the books now under my belt, I’m sticking with Reaper Man at #1 and Small Gods at #2, but now I also need to throw strong support behind Night Watch (like most everybody else). And coming in very close are Interesting Times, Hogfather, Jingo, The Last Continent, and Monstrous Regiment.
