Fax sending program for Windows on broadband

I am looking for a program to send multiple faxes from a computer. I have seen many that allow you to receive, and I’ve found pay to use services that allow you to send. I don’t want to use a service, I want to send multiple faxes from my own computer. But searching for this specific criteria online has been a futile endeavor, as product descriptions are very vague.

I have two machines to choose from. One is my own. A WinMe platform hooked up to DSL. The other is my friend’s office computer. WinXP on a cable modem. I would prefer it to be on mine, but if I must, the other is available to me.

The documents would be single page, created in Word.
NOTE: This is not for spamming.
It’s a pre-existing subscription service that I would like to enlarge. The fax subscriptions are free. The existing faxer generates a small revenue by selling ad lines, such as restaurant specials/coupons. He has been using a programmable fax machine, sends the faxes after hours, and wants to turn it all over to me. I want to set up a computer to do it automatically.
I am not soliciting any Dopers, nor is this for use in spamming. All fax recipients have subscribed.

Fax machines work over phone lines. That means you’ll have to use a service if all you have is a broadband internet connection. If you want to send the faxes directly from your PC, you’ll need a phone connection - either a landline and modem, or a cell phone and data cable.
