FBI Director James Comey -
Not a “great” announcement for Clinton: citations of “extremely careless” security and they found 110 emails (within 52 chains) containing some form of classified information but the Big Question of indictments is off the table.
Comey’s speech was excellent. The issue will never, ever die, just like Benghazi, but he did a great job of trying to cover all potential arguments that both supporters and detractors will bring up.
Comey said Clinton should have known better.
Big bullet dodged here. Clinton can now get on with the campaign. Trump will dwell on this until November and ignore the real issues. Win/win for Clinton.
Great speech by the director too.
He said that “Our judgment is that no reasonable prosecutor would bring such a case”
That’s just great.
Now when going to see 19 investigations over the next 8 years into security lapses, her dishonesty and how she put the entire nation in peril.
Remember, Lynch already said that they would follow the FBI recommendation as far as charges go.
Meh. If she wins the Hillary-haters on the right will find something to blather on about anyway. Whether it’s this, Bengahzi, Vince Foster or how she is a secret baby eating lesbian is pretty much irrelevant.

This was just a mole hill to start with. There was no reason to think this would have produced an indictment. She doesn’t come out unscathed though, it’s been clear from the beginning that using a private email server was a reckless disregard for the law and the security of the nation and done for her own personal ambitions. In most other presidential elections this would have been a disqualifying scandal. This year it’s indistinguishable from the noise.
You forgot Satan worshipping. “Secret baby eating Satan worshipping lesbian.”
In most other elections it never would have been brought up unless that other candidate’s last name was also “Clinton”.
So Chelsea has that to look forward to…
I don’t think most neutral observers (and certainly most liberal observers) ever thought there would be an indictment. The facts, at least the ones that were revealed to the public, never supported it. The people still hoping were just hoping without any reason.
No meaningful amount of voters will be swayed by the pronouncements of carelessness. The haters will crow about it, and her supporters will ignore it. Business as usual, in other words.
This is the sort of event that leads me to visit Breitbart.com solely to enjoy the wailing and gnashing of teeth.
It’s a strange time we live in when the only thing that matters in a case like this is whether Hillary would be indicted or not.
Not indicted does not equal innocent of all wrongdoing. Comey made it clear that Clinton used exceedingly bad judgement, and through her actions very likely exposed U.S. secrets to rival countries and perhaps even to enemies. She was warned about it, and did nothing.
The FBI could not touch on her possible motivations for doing this, but that’s an open political question that should be judged at the polls. The very likely reason is that she’s paranoid and didn’t want her own communication subject to FOIA requests without her ability to censor it first.
She may not be going to jail, but her behavior throughout this should make her unfit to be President.
The thing she’s got going for her is that Trump’s behavior on damned near everything makes him unfit to be president. So yay! America gets to pick between two unpopular people who are not fit to lead them. Go team.
But don’t think the Republicans are going to roll over on this. Yesterday, Huma Abadin admitted that some of Hillary’s schedules went into a ‘burn bag’ and were destroyed.
Just part off a pattern of Nixonian-level paranoia, which she didn’t unfortunately extend to American’s actual enemies and rivals - just her own rivals in politics.
If a Republican had done all this, the left would be spitting nails.
