Has anyone heard/read anything to support this claim?
A friend of a friend warned against my use of the product…(there are at least 2 knock offs out there now) as she had heard it was linked to deaths of caged birds and some house cats.

well, that is good to know, I really like the product, but I didnt want to kill off the cat with it, BTW, if you havnt tried it, it works! you spray the area (my car for examp.) and the first 24 hrs or so, it smel;ls like an old whore wearing cheap airfreshener, then the next day, no scent, no stink… 
and trust me, my car stunk!
