What’s up with the kid? He gets out of the minivan and seems fine. Then he sits on the ground and keels over. He seems to roll out of the way of the donnybrook, then lays on the ground. Later he’s up and back at the minivan and looks OK.
How deep is the donnybrook? How fast is the current? Is it polluted? Can he swim?
If I were him, I’d roll away from the donnybrook too.

Donnybrook: ‘a scene of uproar and disorder; a heated argument.’ Can also mean a melee or free-for-all.
He gets out limping, but his distress seems to be that everyone is paying attention to something besides him.
He looks like he has the wind knocked out of him. I once jumped out of a bunk bed onto someone’s head and that’s what I looked like after, rolling around on the ground holding my gut trying to get a breath in.
I think he is a she, and I think she came to the realization there wasn’t going to be any huge insurance settlement.
In the comments someone remarks that the child has autism and was having a severe reaction.
Truth? Who knows. However it leaves room for thought.
