I’m surprised nobody has noted today’s date.
The day the music died.
Buddy Holly
Ritchie Valens
J.P. Richardson, aka The Big Bopper
RIP February 3, 1959

Thanks for the reminder, cochrane! A big hole was created in Rock on that fateful day.
All three had so much more they wanted to give us, I’m sure.

Hmm. That calls for some whiskey and rye.
Don’t go drivin’ your Chevy to the levee then.
I met a girl who sang the blues, and I asked her for some happy news…
And the luckiest day in the life of Waylon Jennings, the bass player for Buddy Holly, who lost a coin toss for the seat on the plane to the Big Bopper.
Hmmm. Don’t have any rye, and the only whiskey in the house is my hubby’s Cask Strength Booker’s that I bought him for Christmas, which he probably would not appreciate me drinking! So I hope the father, son and holy ghost won’t mind if I toast them with rum instead! While listening to the song, of course!
Interesting, isn’t it, that everyone is quoting “American Pie”, and not any Holly, Valens, or Bopper songs.
Just you know why
Why you and I
Will by and by
Know true love ways
ETA: And I guess it doesn’t matter any more.
