That’s my go to theory for Surströmming.
Though I could actually see myself trying that.
I was at a campout that featured Surströmming as a sort of dare. Not wanting to take part myself, I stood about 10 feet away as the container was opened underwater. I immediately started gagging and moved much further away. Several of the participants started retching before, during, or after taking their bites, even while holding their noses.
So I guess what I’m saying is, you’re in for a real treat.
properly prepared, with appropriate beverages, of course.

Ooh, I’d be willing to toss open cans into Russian tanks! Let’s see how well they can invade when the roads are clogged with tanks that no one will get back into.
