feces in other foods?

since theres a similar thread re: beef. I thought I’d ask about other foods such as: breakfast cerials, rice, etc. because I watched a program a while ago (I can’t remember which one, it was a “news magazine”) and they were saying something to the effect that virtually all packaged (dry) foods (cerials, etc) have a certain percentage of nastiness(rat droppings, hair, etc),is this so?.

All grain fields have rodents in them. Though granaries try hard to keep them out, rats and mice live there, too. Thus, a hundred pounds of grain may have a wee bit of rodent hair and rat poop in it. Hand picked vegetables may have traces of E. Coli on them, too. Why? Because pickers must poop. Even if the grower supplies port-a-poopers in the field, there’s unlikely to be a way to wash hands. Wash and examine your veggies.

Besides, a certain low level of filth is considered by some to be necessary for proper functioning of the immune system. The rise in asthma and other allergic diseases is hypothesized to be associated with environments becoming “too clean” (A counter-hypothesis with a bit more weight is that higher levels of industrial filth like air pollution are driving the increase in respiratory diseases).
