I have too many online accounts. I’d like to branch out into noncorporate platforms or protocols where I have more control, but that would be way too many online accounts. Is there a way to consolidate my composition and publishing under one dashboard or in one app? I haven’t been able to find anything. Maybe a “marketing” company has done something adjacent, since this could (unfortunately) assist ad pushers? Maybe a robust password manager has features that get halfway there? Maybe an RSS manager? I’d want to write or load file, select platform(s), select user and publish. Platforms I use include tumblr, bluesky, youtube, reddit.
One virtually insurmountable limitation is that many platforms don’t want to federate. They want it to be hard to go from theirs to another, so that you wind up with just them instead of taking up with competition.
There are a bunch of “social media management tools” like Sprout, Loomly, Buffer, Hootsuite, Zoho Social etc. that can manage your posts & replies/reactions across different platforms.
Typically they’re aimed at professional content creators and marketing teams, and some of them might be expensive. Not sure what they all integrate with.
The marketers at a former job liked Sprout, but it’s expensive ($200/mo and up).
You can look at some comparisons:

The third parties get around this by just manually logging you in and posting as you across different platforms, manually screen scraping or using headless browsers, etc.
There’s also at least one open-source tool with a free version for individuals (but the free version doesn’t support all the platforms):
You can probably get it up and running for free or very cheap using something like Google Cloud Run, but you’ll need a bit of web software know-how for that. Let me know if you’d like to try it and I’d be happy to help.
